House Music originated from Chicago and Chicago only. Every place else, including Europe copied the style. The term "house music" is from the Chicago nightclub called The Warehouse which existed from 1977 to 1982.

M.A.W. are from Jersey aren't they? I'm from Newark (home of the Zanzibar), and I can tell you for a FACT house was, is, and will ALWAYS be, bigger in Jersey. A lot of New Yorkers wouldn't even listen to it. They were about a year behind when it came to adopting it. M.A.W. Studio and label are based in Union NJ.
 
Little Louie vega is from the Bronx & Kenny is from Brooklyn. They are Not from New jersey. Why would things be bigger in New jeresey when all the big things are happening here. You have so many artist having record release parties every week. Jersey has some nice places but it's only a fraction of what we have here. Now you have queens NY where a new club is openning up every month. You have hundreds to thousands of places to choose from. Why do you think Djs are on high demand in New york.

Me again...diggin on this N.Y. vibe....various surprice guest on the Duck Sauce video.can anyone confirm this? at @ 3:15 into the intro...is'nt that the one and only TODD TERRY?....man singlehandly invented that House Shuffle that put house rithym at a higher energy Level...to that which was the Chicago sound....Oh yeah!
