Sujet: Mapping help?

Ok I'm noobie and I've been reading a lot of information on trying to change some of my buttons to do certain things (Hercules Rmx) just like everyone else that wants to tweak their gear. My question is when your in just plain old plug and play mode "persae" meaning all i do is hook it up to the lappy and click rmx as my source and hit ok and start playing. I know that you can map the buttons 1-6 by going into the config under mappers and select a button to map then you hit the asign key then you click on the skin to learn function and then your done -Button learned. Now the info that I'm reading correct me if I'm wrong is that If I wanted to change any other button I would have to change the config into midi mode and remap to my likings or I could download a premaped skin. Is this true or am I doing some thing wrong? What would the next step be contact an admin for help I've read thru the manual and I'm still not catching on to it. So I'm kinda lost at this point and just been messing around with what I have done so far. I know it all depends on what I'm trying to do but if I had some type of step by step for different things might help. I don't know so please give me your words of wisdom.

You can choose to download and install one of the available mappers from the Download page. You can also map your device according to your personal needs. You have several options here. Either you choose the Key Learn button and point an action from the skin, or you could directly type in the Action field and write a custom action.

You can always ask for help in Forums or in Chat for special script actions. We would be glad to help you. VDJ Script is very powerful, so it wouldnt be a problem to make your RMX to work the way you would like.
