hey everyone
i currently have a hercules rmx controller and today bought vdj pro 7 off this site. i have been using the vdj le that came with the controller and everything was fine. however today when everything installed correctly for vdj pro 7, when i open the program a box comes up that says
error in the ASIO sound driver: your soundcard is probably not connected or the settings are incorrect
when i play my tracks everything is fine coming through the speakers, its just i cant hear both tracks in my headphones ie
the sound of the track that is playing through my speakers comes through the headphones but the sound of the music of the track i just cued doesn't come through the headphones.
in my config i went to sound setup and mine looks like this
inputs: none
outputs: master: chan 3 & 4
headphones: chan 1 & 2
soundcard: dj console rmx
i also have other soundcard options in the dropbox below which says
mono separated
2 cards
4.1 card
asio driver
when i tried changing the outputs ie to look like this
inputs: none
outputs: master: chan 1 & 2
headphones: chan 3 & 4
soundcard: dj console rmx
then suddenly the headphone volume suddenly becomes the master volume, the main volume fader doesn't work at all and everything just f***s up.
can somebody please clearly/step by step take me through what i need to do?
thanks

First, please ensure that you have the latest DJ Console drivers and firmware installed. This is required for it to work with the latest versions of the software.
A link to download this can be found on the following page:
http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Common_Device_Drivers.html
When installing, make sure that you follow the on-screen wizard instructions exactly. If any Windows 'found new hardware' prompts come up, please ignore them.
Once you have done this, check that your sound settings in CONFIG -> Sound Setup are set to the following:
Inputs: None
Ouputs: Headphones
Sound card: DJ Console RMX, Master: Chan 1&2 / Headphones: Chan 3&4
Click APPLY.
Connect a pair of amplified speakers to outputs 1 & 2 on the rear of the RMX console and your headphones into the headphone socket on the front of the console.

You might have the wrong mapping for the SOURCE button.
Go to CONFIG -> Mappers -> Hercules RMX and check that SOURCE is mapped to the following:
get hastimecode ? timecode_bypass : get haslinein ? linein : nothing
Set CONFIG -> Sound Setup -> Inputs: to Line INs.
