Sujet: Timecode with Hercules RMX (Question)

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

I was just wondering what equiptment I need to start using vinyl timecodes with Virtual DJ? I already have an RMX, and I'm planning on buying VDJ pro, 2 direct drive turntables (TT200's), and 2 timecoded vinyls (Suggestions on what to buy? I'm a bit clueless). Do I need an external box like virtual vinyl/serato scratch? or will that set up work fine.

And also, is using timecoded vinyls particuarly demanding on a computer compared to just using the RMX as a midi controller? I do sometimes get a bit of lag when im recording on VDJ and mixing with my RMX...

Cheers : )

The RMX is a soundcard so no you don't need anything else, just timecode vinyls, apparently traktor make the best ones which are 2000Hz, but I have never used them, I use Serato which are 1000Hz

Cheers mate. So for VDJ I can use Serato and Traktor timecode vinyls?
Ermm, also, do you have any idea how demanding it is for your computer?

Cheers : )

I have never not used timecodes so can't directly compare, but I use them with an audio 8 soundcard, laptop has 4gb ram core duo 2.4ghz and I never have any problems, I can scratch, beatjuggle and mix with no issues, although you do need to keep your equipment clean, as the signal can drift if you have dirty needles/vinyl, only +/- 0.2 at most but it does get annoying enough to buy new vinyl every 5-6 months

what r the specs of the laptop ur planning to use?
