i bought a microsoft HD webcam,
If i connect it to my pc en go to the video effects page, turn on Camera ;) i get a live feed trough vdj.
so the answer is YES u can :)

now my other question is can I re size or mask the video feed? Im setting up a new karaoke system at a club and they want the karaoke videos and live video of the singer in the same video output... is this possible?
 
I don't know if you can do that, but I will try and let you know. If not, have it on separate screens. I don't think a web cam will do so well in this situation. I use one of these and one of these. Not only does it work in the VDJ plug in, but also in the free Firetext plug in.
 
ok i found the camera effect. i turn it on and i get a black screen tho. My isight web cam on my macbook pro works fine. what am i doing wrong?

fixed it... something else was using the web cam... so far it looks like im gonna have to use 2 screens.... :( some one should make a plugin that lets both the karaoke and the live video play together in the vdj output window
 
SOLVED!!! firetext plugin does exactly what i was talking about... now how do i turn the firetext logo off ?!?!? lol
 
answered that for you in your other post. Firetext allows PIP (picture in picture) show your audience on screen as well as other video outputs, great for karaoke singers, audience in venue while playing music videos, speakers at conference, even sports events while playing vids.
 
ok this is gonna be a stupid question but iv been looking fo ra live cam plugin for ages for the mac version so where did you find it please as it didnt come with virtual DJ 7 for teh mac only with the pc version

Need Help ! I am trying to run a Live Video Feed from a Sony DVCAM through Virtual's Camera Effect. The problem I am facing is, The Digital Out Put on the camera is Mini DV and the laptop I am using has no firewire connections. I have 2 unused USB ports open and a eSATA port available. Any one have any ideas how i can turn a firewire into a usb or something compatiable.
