hi andy, im not 100% on the version, but it will definitly be adequate enough to run the idj3 to its full potential. with LE you can do pretty much everything pro can feature wise. the negitive side is not to be able to use other external hardware. eg timecodes and other midi controllers. from what i understand it is controller specific.
just be sure not to register it untill you have fully decided which route to take controller wise.

LE (Limited Edition) is the software included in the package.
You may see what LE offers, and what additional features you may get if you upgrade your LE version to Pro Full version, by visiting this page..

Compare columns 1 and 5.
Columns 2,3,4 are softwares that do not support midi controllers.

Even better, is once you register the LE version, you are entitled to a discount to upgrade to pro.

To broadcast from your laptop you probably should have a server host you, depending on your internet speed you mittens be able to 3/4 people. But after you connect to the server you'll have a website or an address that you can give your friend and they can hear you. Or after you upgrade to the Pro version and register it you can apply to spin on VDJ Radio!! There's a lot of great djs there and your friends can chat with you in the chat room while listening to your mix live!! It's great!!
