Hi,
I am planning to burn the mp3 collection that I have in my laptop to CDs.
I want to organise the CDs in a CD wallet with custom cover for each CD having the track list along with the Track Name, Artist Name, Duration and BPM.
I would like to know how I should start with this and what is the software I can use to create the tracklist and print them for cd cover ?

well, to start with your going to need a lot of cd's. it is recomended that you only ever burn one track per disc and label the disc clearly with black on white.
the data you print to the cdi is, artist, track name, key tone both in flats and in numeric, bpm to 2 decimal places. 3 i you want..
if you plan to burn more than one track per cd then i suggest creating trak lists that contain artist, track name, bothe key tone infos, bpm and length.
if you plan more than one per disc number the discs to 4 decimal places . 0001, 0002, etc..because you will find as your collection grows the numbers will increase fairly rapidly.
hope this helps.

I don't know if I would be up for a task such as this, but if I were I'd use DVDs and burn them in MP3 format. Then, I'd print like an index directory of songs and number the CDs.

I would use lightscribe discs - this way you can laser etch the info directly on the CD and don;t have to worry about the cover getting separated from the disc. Then create a playlist from the discs and export the info to Excel so you can print the list in the order you want. I did this for my back-up collection - about 300 CD's 10-15 tracks per disc. Arranged the discs physically in order but printed the index alphabetically by song title. makes finding it very easy. Took forever! Probably over 150 hours.
I used mediamonkey to create and export the playlist.

iz it gonna be regular cd as in audio cd that only hold 18 songs or so. or are they gonna be mp3 cd's that can hold over 200 songs per cd ?
if they are mp3 cd's i got the perfect system that i use with my mp3 cd's

no need to play around with excel mate, i use a programme called advanced disc catalouge, once you burn your disc have ADC read the disc and it catalogues everything for you in a database. it tells you what tracks are on which discs, has a search function so you can enter the name of a song and it will tell you which disc its on and which track number it is.
ADC makes it possible to just number discs but as far as im aware (not that ive checked) it doesnt hold bpm and key data. i think ill check that and get back to you. because if it holds id3 tag data then it will be great for running large content discs on the fly. however, if its dvd's then they will be completely useless for use with CDJ's. and DVJ's are hight end pioneers and such. which are hugely expensive.
using dvds also would mean having to read from the laptop/pc dvd drive to play tracks from disc with vdj which may result in high system resource usage that causes vdj to slow or stutter.
to play them in cdj's also be sure your player actually allows mp3 playback or you will be limited to 15-18 tracks per disc.
also remember that if a cd gets scratched you loose more than just one song.

ADC sounds great but I was talking about just printing a physical index. I keep a laminated physical index of my 300 or so backup CD's arranged by Song title at the front of my CD case. Also have copy at the back that is indexed by artist. By keeping it on a USB key in Excel format I can reprint easily if something happens or if I need to sort it in a different way on someone else's computer.
The index has title, artist, length, year, Disc, track, and for some BPM. I just export that data from Media Monkey into Excel so that I can format it better to print out - could do it direct from Media Monkey but you would not have finite control over font style, size , and other formatting issues like you do with excel.
My backup catalog is arranged as a playlist in Media monkey and separated into Each disc there. Every few months I add the most played songs to a new disc, add it to the back-up catalog and reprint my indexes.
ADC won't do any good for you if the laptop gets fried during a gig and you have to go CDJ only.
These are WAV file or regular Audio CD's not MP3 CD's.

I'm going to burn mp3 CDs with around 15 to 18 tracks per CD so that it's easy for me to read from the tracklist that I am planning to print for every CD.
Please advise.

The doubt I have is that after burning around 15 tracks on an mp3 CD how do I get the tracklist along with the track details (Artist Name, BPM, etc.) ?
And the most serious doubt that I have is, is the tracklist that I will be printing going to be in the same order in which the tracks appear in a DJ CD Player ?

Programs that print CD covers pull the info from the ID3 tags so you have to make sure all your files are tagged properly first.
If you only plan on putting 15 tracks per disc why not burn them as .WAV ? That way they will work in any CD player not just MP3 compatible ones.

I have edited the tags.
Please clarify the 2 doubts that I have.

as long as all your tags are in order the program will read them in whatever order they are in on the disc.
Here is a link the program I use - works great and very simple. pop the disc in , it reads the tags and populates your template with the disc data.
