Whenever I run Virtual DJ is an error message: "Invalid skin (error in line 0 in the xml)"

theres an error in the skins script, find the xml file located in the virtual dj in your documents. in the skins folder. right click the xml, hit edit, nd check for any syntax errors like a double space, a spelling mistake etc on line 0. or the first line in other words.

This is common error when Trial Period of Pro is ended. Le version is not allowing custom skins and therefor can not load the skin you have selected during Trial Period. Another cause is that at the same time you used another unofficial version of Virtualdj with different skin that the one that the LE has by default.

To solve this, uninstall and re install the LE version.

If the error is still present then you need to clear the registries
For Windows, goto START , type regedit in run bar. This will launch Registries Editor
Locate and delete the flowing folder.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER->Software->Virtualdj

after that install Le version again.

This is not very professional for a software to behave like that. There should be some information popup explaining the steps to take instead of the cryptical tech message no normal user can do anything with...
Just my opinion.

If so, what about in case of Mac. I just deleted every element of VDJ Le and reinstalled. but the error messege still poped up.
how can i fix it in my MacBook?
Current Os is Lion.10.7.1

The most common cause of this error is installing the software while logged in as one user (E.g: Fred) and then trying to run it as a different user (E.g: Joe.)

The other user is missing the /users/USERNAME/Documents/VirtualDJ folder (Or for new installations of v7.0.3 or above, /users/YOURNAME/Library/VirtualDJ folder.) The program will not run without this.

To resolve, please either:

(1) Install the software as the user you will be running it as.

(2) Manually copy the Documents/VirtualDJ and/or Library/VirtualDJ folder across to the other user.

This error can also be caused by installing an invalid or incompatible skin. If this is the case, please delete the skin from Documents/VirtualDJ/Skins and/or Library/VirtualDJ/Skins (NOTE: Do not delete the default VirtualDJ skins.)

If the above does not help, please try the following:

(1) Delete the following file: MacintoshHD -> Users/YOURNAME/Library/Preferences/com.atomixproductions.virtualdj.plist

(2) Go to the Download Center and download the latest installation file: http://www.virtualdj.com/download/updates.html

(3) Install the software using the installation file that you downloaded above.
