Sujet do not download new version of itunes

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

well i finally was able to speak to someone in support and they said VDJ does not support the new version of itunes and there are no plans to update VDJ to make it compatible. this just sucks - why would i spend so much time organizing my music only to find out that all that work is now for nothing. sorry VDJ - you suck. if anyone wants a mixtrak pro i have one - time to move on to some real dj software - serato or traktor. VDJ is strictly amateur hour.

That's weird. I have the latest iTunes and the latest VDJ pro edition. Both seem to work fine. I still can see the playlists from iTunes and all.

Maybe you are doing something different?

That would suck if iTunes didn't play with VDJ anymore, but I don't see it as a factor to just ditch VDJ. After all, I like using VDJ's playlists better.

I spoke to someone at tech support today and they told me that VDJ wasn't compatible with the new itunes. I prefer not to but i have never used VDJ playlists and cant imagine how it would be easier than itunes. regardless the total lack of customer support and this problem has been extremely frustrating.

Just tested with iTunes 10.4 and VDJ 7.0.4 Mac. Seems to be working just fine.

The iTunes folder in VirtualDJ will only appear and work correctly if your iTunes library is in the default location (See http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1660 )

iTunes libraries in custom locations and/or on external drives are not fully supported at this time. You can try changing the location by right-clicking on the iTunes folder and choosing this option or by using the Registry Tool (Pro users only): http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/2170/Registry_Tool.html - Multiple iTunes profiles are not supported.

Please ensure that you have the most recent version of VirtualDJ installed: http://www.virtualdj.com/download/updates.html

NOTE: If you library is in a custom location or external drive, you can still access the music in it by using the VirtualDJ browser to browse to the drive/folder where the music is located.

Make sure that you have added the music to your search database by browsing to the folder(s) where it is located, right-click (CMD+Click) on the folder and choose Add to search DB.

maybe this thread should be closed since there are 2 open threads from the same user about the same issue and the other seems to have more suggestions/answers.

Actually you were advised that the support for itunes was being worked on. As you can see many users have no issues but some do. This is due to the placement of the itunes files and database. As you were told we are working on bettering the support.

PS, tread lightly... Saying VirtualDJ sucks may offend some of its loyal users. Might even get you a vacation.

So did you speak with someone in support or is there a total lack of support? You can't have both.

All you need to do is to change your music library to be "iTunes Music Library.itl". Then when you launch iTunes, hold down the Option key and select this library. Assuming your XML exporter is not crashing (look at my other post for this fix); Virtual DJ will now work just fine.

Virtual DJ is looking for the file "iTunes Music Library.xml". You can use the Registry Tool to redirect the directory, but you cannot choose the file name.

Good luck!
