Hi there!
First of all sorry for my english if i typed some things wrong -ImDutch-
2 weeks ago ive bought the sweet VMS4. I had no trouble recording my mixes untill yesterday.
Im 100% sure i havent touched any configuration at all!
I recorded my 2.5 hour session and when i was done i listened to it but the first songs i mixed i heard my queue also! So i was very frustrated lol.
I really dont know what i did wrong but i recorded 2 songs playing again with the volume faders down and vdj recorded that somehow!!.
Im one of the few i guess who dont know what to do so i reinstalled everything (drivers, firmware, vdj, asio, etc)and tried it again.
Well same things happened. VDJ records when faders are down..weird...
Luckely (at that time) my brother has the same setup so i called him to ask what his configuration is so i changed it the same as his but noooo again it failed.
Ive used the ASIO4ALL, AmericanAudio_ASIODriver_WIN_1.07 but its alle the same.
Here's what i did with my pc the day before yesterday and yesterday just to make sure i havent done something wrong that would uuhh sorry to say f*** up my configuration.
Ive installed the software for my new camera and it comes with some media programs and i installed them. After i found out the mixes failed i uninstalled them but didnt work either. Ive opened my PC to clean al the dust inside so every cable was disconnected. I connected them proper tho.
I als tried http://www.virtualdj.com/homepage/djdad/blogs/4316/VMS4_Setup_Guide.html but even that didnt worked. Im so confused right now.
I hope someone can help with this.

In order to record with the VMS4 you need to follow this ..http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Recording%20your%20set%20or%20broadcasting%20when%20using%20an%20external%20DJ%20mixer.html

Thanks for the reply and PM.
Well VDJ records my mix when i use de crossfaders on my PC but when i use it on my VMS it does not work. I have made an Record Loopback but its still the same. So the problem is with my vms signals i guess.

This is because the VMS4 is a real hardware audio mixer - VirtualDJ has no way of knowing which deck is actually playing live or what you are doing with the real hardware volume sliders, crossfader, etc.
The best way is to record is by connecting the REC OUT (If the VMS4 has one) to the line input of your computer's sound card, then use 3rd party recording software such Audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net to record from this source.
Please see http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Recording%20your%20set%20or%20broadcasting%20when%20using%20an%20external%20DJ%20mixer.html

I am having the same problem - I bought the cable - connected the RCA end to the output back of VMS4 - the other RCASs are going to my power speakers.
I connected the other side to my lap top.
I went into Advanced config - set deck 1 - asio soundcard - output deck 2/3 Deck 2 asio soundcard - deck 3/4 record loopback 0 primary sound driver -
it gives me an error in the sound card when I do that. So I set it to asio
Go back set the output to external mixer - but its still recording my looping!!!! I've tried all configs and nothing works!!
I set the machine to 4 out -chnls 2/3
American Audio suggested someting about setting up the 4 decks but I'm only using 2! That doesn't seem to make sense.
I'm using full version of VDJ Pro. I never had a problem recording with my old Numark Controller and I can also record using the VDJ on its own with no mixer!
Pls help! i'm at my wits end!

Well i guess we wont get more help here then :(
What i did is returned the VMS4 saying it has a problem with the soundcard (lol). It did had some problems with the touch thingy's so it had to be returned to fix it. I got it back today and i also formatted my pc and omfg it still does not record nething. Not even with audacity. Im stunned and confused and sure it is a problem with either VDJ or my pc.
So if anyone has or had this problem pls advis. Thanks.
