The deals are out there and sometimes people just need cash and get desperate. I bought 2 used Mixdecks (separate purchases) for less than $500.

Many users in the forums have this controller and are very pleased with it. It is a very popular device with minimal issues.

I have not heard a single bad thing about the 4MX. Users that enjoy Hercules products, almost instantly fall in love with this device. I did have an RMX at one time and enjoyed using it but needed larger jog wheels.
What are you looking for in a controller (besides price)?

Get a VMS4, they just dropped to $400 at guitar center. It's frame is all steel, has nice rubbery buttons, and enough bells and whistles to get creative with.

Did they fix the mic issues with the vms4. So many complaints about this product got me scared so I was staying away from it

go to the official Vms4 website, go to the forums, they'll send you 2 adapters for the mic inputs. I've had mine for several months and they work great, really cleared up the problem. I run karaoke 3 times a week, so I know they work.
As for problems with the unit, you're going to have issues with every midi console and even the professional grade DVS stuff, there's enough bad stuff about Serato to make you not want to use it, but I'm still heading in that direction. There's always an issue, especially back in the days of my American Audio DCD Pro-1000 rack mount system, nothing is perfect.

I have the Rmx, had it for 3 years now, great investment for me. Have made good money with it at tons of gigs. Still no need to upgrade it. I too want larger jog wheels but that's an easy fix, just get the timecodes and add it.

+1 for the mixtrack pro and the RMX, I own both, use the mixtrack for smaller gigs, use the rmx with a pair of pioneer cdj 800s, love that set up! It cures the small jog wheel issue of the rmx, also have some numark ndx 400s, don't use them unless I don't want to take the pioneers out.
