Sujet: AA VMS4 - A bit of help

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Hi everybody. I'm new(ish) to this forums, with 'ish' because i know them for a time now, but only just made my login.

I know there are already topics about this controller, but I made my own to check for replies regularly.
I was considering buying my 1st controller for VDJ, and after a lot of research, I found this:

The American Audio Velocity Midistation 4
http://vms4dj.com/

Is it any good? Can any owner tell me some opinions on it? What about the 4CH mixer, the soundcard, and all the other features? Are you happy with it?
I can't really ask about reliability, 'cause I've seen a lot of negative comments about that. I guess if I'd buy it, I'll just need to hope it won't brake.

I'm not really new to DJing... my cousin owns a club and I mix on CD Players there, but I think it's time to go digital. I'm tired of burning CDs. But this is my 1st controller, and the problem is that I ain't really got a lot of money to put into it. Are there better solutions that work with VDJ, and ship with VDJ LE at about the same price (+ or - 100$)? This one is 500$, complete with 4CH mixer, soundcard, and the normal decks. The fact is that I'm from Romania and here we don't earn a lot of money here. If most of you could get the 750$ I need in less than a month, it will take me about 6 months to do so.

As for the VDJ, I must admit I'm still using the old Trial version of VDJ, but I'll upgrade to pro as soon as I get the console with the Limited Edition, because of the discount.

And thanks in advance for opinions!

I think I should notify you that i'm only into club mixing right now (no scratching), and also sorry for my bad English, it's not my native language.

I have been useing my VMS4 since febuary this year and have DJ'ing at clubs with it and never had one problem with it. there is some problem with low sound output and not good mic input, but for me that has never been a problem I connect to the clubs amp and never use a mic. I also don't scratch. From what you have posted this is the perfect solution for you. some of the more expensive might be better but for what you need the VMS4 will be the thing

Thanks. Any others?
