Because Apple are so good at advertising that they now have more cash money than the US Government. People like to pay for image. Pioneer CDJs/Mixer, Serato, Beats Headphones etc.

i think youll probably find that there is an equal number of djays use wndows laptops too.

mac however uses system resources much better, is less vulnerable to viruses and runs much smoother than windows.

thats about it really.

Dell Windows XP laptop since January 2007 mixing audio and video!

Far more stable than PC at handling media programs.

I switched from PC to a Macbook Pro just for this fact alone. I went through 2 PC before I realized it has nothing to do with the hardware configuration but rather how the operation system allocates resources. I was using Traktor and VDJ. Both would crash on my original PC laptop. So I bought an HP G71. Same thing. So beginning of this year I bought a Mac. Knock on wood, been doing 2-3 gigs a month that are anywhere from 4-5hrs. each. So far no crashes or freezes (knock on wood)

Software freezing or crashes that causes dead air in a club environment is a good way to get fired from a residency.

ask your self long term dj or short term or just a hobbie? go all out for this unit if you don't yull pay for it later.

ok...
thx to all...
i got it...
tq...

I have been running an Acer & a backup Gateway 32bit windows laptops at the club mixing video for about 4years every week , 4-5hrs a nite , no problems, stable, windows works for me if its optomized and you dedicate your PC for VJ/DJ work only.
