im interested in making my own music as well as mixing it but i don't know any software that's free and makes quality electro house beat any ideas?

There is alot of free programs available, but if you need something with real potential then this is the one you need http://www.ableton.com/downloads

cheers joey but that only give you a 30 day trial not a program that's free but it does really look like a cracking program to use for mixing.

These sorts of questions are reasonable. Our information age has rewritten what a tool is; rather than only being hardware there is the software layer too. Linux is a fantastic example of a free 'tool' that is as good as (if not better than) the paid competition. There's a good chance this will be true of music production applications as more developers become interested in it.
FL Studio is easy to pick up (not so easy to master though). My favourite DnB act at the moment (Camo & Krooked) produce with it, Maor Levi does too.
