Sujet: Hercules RMX: Difference btw top and front headphone jack?

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Hi,

I just got the Hercules RMX and am about to learn how the whole thing works ;)

Right now I'm wondering what the difference between the 1/4" headphone jack at the front and the one at the top is? According to the manual it's the same, but the top one seems to be shorter than the one at the front: When I plug in my headphones in the front jack, the silver plug disappears completely and I hear stereo sound.
However, when I try to plug it in the top jack, the plug doesnt fit quite well...and I hear only the left channel (probably because the plug is too long).

Are there different lengths of 1/4" plugs?

Right now I use the front jack and am OK with it. Though I'm curious about the actual difference between the two

thx & best regards
Max

No difference, you just have to pick one or the other. You can't use them both at the same time. Maybe there is something stuck or broke in the jack, that's why it does not go all the way in.

mhh that's odd...I also tried the mic jack on the top (just to check whether it fits). Same thing. Doesnt fit quite.

I just got the console recently (pre-owned, according to the previous owner used only once) and it's in a really good condition. So I somehow doubt that there is something stuck in both jacks....what could that be anyways? ;)

I'll look into it though when I come home. Thx! :)

And you're sure that 1/4" plugs exist in only 1 length? I dont know...I'm really no expert on music equipment ;)

this happens to almost all rmxs, just firmly push down on it slowly while twisting from side to side
