I have vdj pro and a hercules rmx should I leave the mapper alone or should I try to tweak it? what is your take on this. Anyon have a good mapper for a novice dj? Please let me know anything you want. Also should I get technics to hook up to the rmx?

It's entirely up to you.
If you are happy with the default mapping, then there's no need to change it and if you are learning to DJ, this could just end up confusing you.

Unless you wish to learn to mix using vinyl records and/or advanced scratching, then you don't need to purchase vinyl turntables such as Technics. The RMX is more than adequate for normal DJ mixing and even some basic scratching (The jogwheels aren't touch-sensitive though, so are not ideal for scratching.
