Hey guys, Mercenary here.
I was wondering wiether I should go out and buy a good turntable set with an effects controller. It would be much appreciated if I received some suggestions/feedback on possible choices. Thanks for the help a head of time!

well just a heads up, If your planning to use a TT with VDJ to control mp3's from your computer, not ony will you need a TT, you will need a compatable time-code vinyl, and a compatable soundcard.
I have Numark TT-100's, nothing fancy at all, but for what i do they work just fine. Whatever you get, just make sure its direct drive, not belt driven.
IMO, having a high end TT is super nice to have, but the cheaper ones work fine for what i do.
If you don't have a sound card or a controller, I highly reccomend the hercules RMX, full control, plus it works as a sound card where you can hook it up to your turntables, headphones, external speakers, and everything else in a pretty solid unit, and at a reasonable price. used gear and a new hercules rmx i think i'm only out $500 for a really good set up that i don't see any reason i need to upgrade to anything fancy any time soon.
Note: you will need VDJ PRO to use time coding systems

Wait, so what if I use FL 10? And I might look at the numark. I'm looking for something just above 500$ because it'll be my Christmas present.
As well as I need something for dubstep, if there is a certain preference.

Numark TT200 are perfect for a beginner on your price range, and are a really nice TT to use to be fair.
