Sujet: Projectors: Acer vs. ViewSonic

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

I have been asked many times if I could display slideshows, music videos, and recently a boxing match. I have had to let the clients know that I do not offer a projector option since I do not own one. This upcoming week I was asked once more and this time I'm thinking about purchasing a projector in the 300USD price range. I do not know one bit about selecting the right projector so I would like to know what tips and advice you guys have. I was looking at two projectors that are about the same price on amazon. Can anyone help me out here, something inexpensive to start off. Thanks.

I would go with the Viewsonic because its brighter and the bulb will last almost twice as long. just make sure your laptop has a VGA connection. The only thing i dont like on both is The native resolution. 800 X 600. Its ok for slide shows.

I have the Acer and it has HD and 3D.

As for brightness I have to have it in eco mode on half brightness as I find it to bright.

I have Acer too , (X110) looks like X1161 , i confirm that ian says , good brightness

you guys are really brave taking dlp projectors on the road.

I decided to borrow a projector for the night because I want to know more about projectors before I invest in one. I decided that I will need to spend more money on one that will last. Can you guys help me out and give me some tips on what to look for. I plan on showing music videos, photo slideshows, and visual loops. By the way I have read about getting a projector with 3500 lumen and up, but what other specs must I keep in mind? Thanks.

I think a question you should also ask would be Short or Long throw?

I use both. Acer X1230PS (2500 lumens) short-throw for when I use my rear projection screen (for limited projector-to-screen space) and an Optoma long-throw mounted on the truss for when I project over the crowd onto a wall, existing screen or the floor for logo's.
The Acer works great, it's small and not much $$. For very large screens or lit rooms you would of course need a brighter model.
