Sujet DB Search Issue

Hello all, I am running VDJ 7.05 on a windows 7/64 os PC. The search function seems to only find files when I have a playlist open (vdj/itunes), or when vdj is initially opened, in this case it will search the complete database only once. All subsequent total database searches generate absolutely ZERO results unless a playlist is opened which then the search is limited to files within that playlist (this also often omits files). Is this a known issue, is it being addressed. Also be advised that I had (still do) a pirated version of 7.03 installed and decided to purchase this great piece of software. Any help will be appreciated. If there is no fix, is it possible to downgrade back to 7.03 until this issue is rectified. Thx in advance for all replies/feedback.

There is no issue with VDJ - the issue is with your setup.

If you have followed the manual in order to create your database, then all your tracks should be listed and should return results from a search.

Unless you have changed some of the search options, which would restrict results.

For example if you've set the search options to only search for BPM and you're entering an artist name, you'll get no results.

Please provide as much detail in your messages about exactly what your settings are, and exactly what you're searching for. Then it's easier to track down the cause.

Groovin, thx for your reply, i will look into my settings later to verify, but if you search the forum you will realize that i'm not the only one with this issue, which lead me to believe that it may have been global...in any event i'm glad to know its not. I did not change any settings and as I indicated in the original post, the search function works as expected once when the program is opened, whether it be a track, artist etc. But after that one occurrence it generates no results unless a playlist is opened. I will chevk out the settings and dig deeper later on. again thx much fir the feedback.

Issue solved after a call to VDJ phone support, i had a registry error and the registry had to be deleted and VDJ reinstalled. All is now well.
