Sujet: Good mid-priced MIDI controller for VDJ?

Hi,

I am looking for some good advice on a decent mid-priced ($499 - $600) controller that has a good track record with the latest version of VDJ. I currently am using a Mac laptop, so I'll need a controller that has an audio card for pre-cueing and would love something that has a nice, feature-rich mapping already available so I can get this going with VDJ with not a ton of noodling around.

Thanks for any advice you can give me! I currently have a Vestax Spin and am looking to upgrade from it.

For 700 you can get the Denon MC6000, its a great controller, alittle small for my liking but a solid unit.

If you like Vestax, have a look at the new VCI-400...
 
Having used most controllers - i've just got the Pioneer ERGO and it seems solid so far.

@ mrpiano. I would get the The Pionneer DDJ Ergo. Its a nice size and its around your limit.
 
So...

I looked at the Ergo and it is very slick...but from there, I was in striking distance of the MC6000, price-wise...

And from there, well, I was in striking distance of the NS6...

I ended up splitting the difference and going with the MC6000...significant upgrade from the Spin, and as a musician, I'll find lots of other good uses for the Denon for other instruments and inputs along the way. NS6 was more than I felt I wanted to spend for what I actually needed. Also looks like the Denon is mostly ready to rock and roll with VDJ right out of the gate, which was important.

You won't be disappointed with the MC-6000. It's excellent.

@kradcliffe thanks...yeah it was hard to find a bad word about it anywhere, which is a pretty darn good sign ;-)
 
Before you buy anthything, Go to the DJ store and look at the decks you are interested in. Alot of Djs in this forum like really compact decks and others like bigger decks.
