Hello Forum the problem is i have this Numark DJ2go But when i try to Scratch with its jog it takes around 1-2 seconds for the track to continue playing. Obviously i need it to be instant.. or at least as close to instant as possible.

Any help ??? Im told to Set Latency but Im Confused

Lol, itll never be instant because there not touch sensitive jogs........because there not touch sensitive the computer has no way of knowing if your still touching them which is where the delay comes from..

Latency has nothing to do with it, good luck
Huey

Oh.... I was Told to Set my Latency to a Point before it could work proper for me.... Those who knows what i mean Understands how this is .

It's never gonna be instant no matter what you do, as far as I know..........do some research you'll see.

Good Luck
Huey

Anyways .. Thankx a Lot for passing through. Thankx... Someone Help Again.

huey is right, the only way you will get close is if you have touch sensitive jogs, or if you remap a button to "touchwheel_touch" and the jog to "touchwheel" then hit the button when you want to scratch and release to continue playing, but your better off upgrading...

your problem is related to the lack of a scratch button on your device rather than touch sensitive jog wheels ....I was scratching , backspinning , live manual looping, on normal jogs with vdj 5 in 2007 on Numark total control & the ion icue .

I had a video on youtube with over 40 000 views but removed it as it didnt age well. & i got tired of responding.

I emphasise scratching not....... wobbling. lol .... It wasnt fast when combined with the fader but it was frame accurate .

post your pc specs & settings ....I may be able to help reduce your latency & resolve this .. unless the dj to go has compromised on its components....... i'll have to check the patent office to compare jog wheel specs though.

someone may be able to suggest a script to alter or make a dual function button to enable the scratch. i'm not sure about the indicatiors or illumination as there are few buttons on your unit...

Dont lose hope .....people are still scratching with a mouse so it's achievable & will be a useful fix... But its a scratch button issue, not jog wheel..Touch sensitive jog wheels also need to be switched to enable scratching & your unit has no scratch function...

@ dj spinash..

An employee of Numark has informed me that the dj2go jog wheels are of similar resolution to the Numark total control & ion i cue controllers. so it's basically a controller without a scratch activate button. eq , triggering & looping functions ...

so you can perform basic simple but accurate scratching with a few scripting tweaks....As i did many years ago.

This minor issue requires someone with mapping skils & maybe access to a controller ....which rules me out as ive never used vdj script & dont have full user privileges ...

I know Numark dj2go has its own skin & doesnt need a mouse for operation....someone correct me if im wrong but is it just a toggle vinyl script whats required...something like? ..

deck 1 vinyl_mode on ? deck 1 vinyl_mode off

Then a question of how you activate deactivate vinyl mode using pc keyboard shortcut or controller? or alternatively remap via midi learn.

That's all i can offer for now.

special thanks to Simon bangs community manager of Numark for a rapid response to my enquries....

Yup, its called "hold the LOAD button down to swtch from Vinyl mode to cd mode"................
Doesnt matter what he does theres always gonna be a delay when he lets go of the jogs...........

Good Luck Though
Huey

@ Huey I kinda disagree with your comment.. . I only had a problem with complex scratching on jog wheels when i started...

My deleted video ... Tygaelement ion icue demo... was linked all over the net & refutes this theory. . But i cant find my original to show what was possible with jog wheels in 2007..I know weve moved on so its irrelevant now But does anyone know how to retrieve deleted youtube video's?

Thank You Alll . below is Sample of How The Scratch Reacts when i Touch the Jog.I dont even Mind where i will get the activation and the de activation of the scratch.I always go to Config and select the Vynil Mode when ever i wana Scratch or whatever .But the case is when i touch and release my hands on the Jog.The sound does not continue Immediately as i want.It either skips the beat that i scratched to be mixed with the other song or what ever .That is how it reacts and that's what i wana Solve.I was told to set a Latency but i dont know how to get ma self worked.below is Sample of how it Reacts ...

Follow the Link and Listing to it.

I will be happy if you Could also be able to teach me the Script to Enable me Activate the Scratch At Once whenever i want cuz Going to Cofig always to select the Vynil Mode Sucks ...and at times delays . Anyone who helps with the Scripts and Commands will be thanked in Advanced.

It will never be able to release when you let go of the platter you can try spinning it forward ever so slightly, but it probably won't work either... the way vdj operates if you dont have touch sensiitive jogs is, it will delay scratching on and off until it decides that is what you actually want to do, for the program to decide that, to start a scratch you need a fast jolt, so it knows your not trying to pitch bend, then to recommence playing it needs the platter to stop.

The first cdj I had was the pioneer cmx3000, it didn't have touch sensitive jogs, but in time I learnt the feel of them and could judge when to release to continue playing the track, that is your only hope

You are asking too much from the most basic device on the market, If you don't have much coin, check ebay for a mixtrack pro, or I have an icon idj, cost me $110, posted from the UK, it is about the same size but has many more features than the 2go including touch sensitive jogs, look into that maybe.. Be aware it is not supported by vdj

to script it you just need to map "vinyl_mode" to a button or your keyboard, there is mapping verbs in my previous post aswell

@ spinash ..... i'll contact you on facebook.

Why on fb?? If it can be done why not share it??

Huey

@ synthet1c Why cant i use that with VDJ. You know im a VDJ user and i cant quit that to use any other which wont work with VDJ. Just try and see if you could help me fix It.Than recommending me new systems.I have a Numark Mixtrack on the way coming and will get to me soon. But this what i have for now and the mixtrack too is delaying so i wana know wasup before i get da Mixtrak.

The Mixtrack has touch sensitive jogs so you will not have the delay like you do now. But you'll need to upgrade to pro so you can download the registry tool so you can tweak the platters to feel more like vinyl.

Good Luck
Huey

You need to take the advice of those that have already presented you answers.

The DJ2GO is not designed to function in the prescribed way you are asking. You will never be able to achieve that kind of response.

If you are looking for better scratch control, you need to look at investing in a product that provides a more enhanced ability than the DJ2GO.

You can only expect so much from a $60 control device where it's intent is to be a third or forth level type device for beginners and/or DJ enthusiasts.

So, if you want to increase your 'skill' you need to increase the tools you are using.

You can use any midi controller with vdj pro, by saying it is not supported, means you wil need to map it so it works, it isn't plug and play ike the 2go or mixtrack. And I gave you two possible workarounds in two seperate posts, one involves technique, the other mapping a fake jog touch button... have a read again, that is the only 2 ways I see it being possible to do without equipment made to do the task.

If you want my advice barring getting more equipment, learn the technique to do flares, you don't need touch sensitive jogs to do them, just good co-ordination between the jog and the crossfader. The technique feels wrong to do so should take some time to develop, which is what you have until you get the mixtrack

@ Huey ...

I'm an electronic technician, studio engineer & have a history of building ,modding, repairing ,controllers, midi devices ,decks, gadgets etc ...some of my best most accurate dj controllers have been created by modding a simple pc desktop mouse. in 2003 ...Now that is low budget..

I need to go private as.

I have limited user privileges & can't directly post images or receive pm's here....I also need to confirm his pc specs which should have been establised at the start .As we are all going round in circles....

I think the verdict is unamious & I totally agree that you should invest in you arts & talents ..But many have doubts on the controllers potential & that is the essence of djing for me.......Potential...

Ive heard the audio file & i think i can improve the dj 2 go...But i prefer to use an audio test tone so i can examine it under my conditions in detail....
