we're having a "roll the dice and see what happens" month - started with a slow thursday, a really good friday, and then a kick-ass concert saturday night that packed the place solid. we've been getting plane-loads of our troops back from iraq which is really having an impact locally for entertainment and service business, with the added bonus of the single ones having alot of extra cash that they havent had a chance to spend while overseas.
but then you have everyone who lives here not spending quite as much because of the holidays...

i am so ready for new year's to be here.

Not brilliant.

im in northern england and the recent financial situation is causing problems. my diary was full but have lost 4 gigs now due to low sales. a couple of events i have already done have been poorly attended with one finishing at 10pm

i lost quite a lot of work last year due to the weather and hope the snow hold off

Piss poor,

Although demand seems to of been there, they just didn't book as I was to expensive even after I'd discounted it.

Everyone has a level, once I get to mine if they don't book I'm not bothered. Fortunatly my other business is going well.

Hope everything goes good for you full timers!

I had a very poor Wedding summer this year;
But Christmas has been amazing.
My best thoughts go out to those of you who are slow.

you can do that too

For me, for the past 10 years December has always been an "iffy" month. I never know what kind of month it's going to be until it's here. If it fills up, it never does until a few weeks before, or the first week of the month.

This year and last year it's turned out to be a pretty good month. Due in part to NYE falling on the weekend. When NYE falls on a weekday, we usually don't have any events booked for it. So that's 3 or 4 events for the month right there. This year I have 21 events for the month of December. 3 of those are on NYE, which helps for January.

For me, Friday & Saturday are not enough...
Started off in mid november and when we reached the 1 dec. I was taking thursday in to use aswell..
Setting gear up the rest of the weekdays, playing thursday, friday & saturday. Some days two gigs in one night.
Last week I had three christmas long open hours in different stores in the main street, mon, tue & wednesday. Party thur, fri & saturday

So can't really say its slow here.

the 2nd dec. had 19 gigs, 3 dec. 15 gigs. and it does not slow down before we reach the 21 dec.

you could tell almost to the second when the shoppers got done last night. between 10 and 1030pm we had a big honkin' rush in the door - and they just kept coming in. and it was definitely a party night!

i am so hoping it stays like this through the month. probably won't, but i can hope.
