Sujet: .....Question about VDJ Audio......

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

I notice that when I use my studio monitors to play say a Mp3 file through the VDJ program, that the sound is powerful, full, rich, all that good stuff , with my active monitors only up say a quarter of the volume level.....However, if I play that same Mp3 track through say Media Monkey or Win. Media Player it sounds like S***, and I get NO WHERE NEAR the PUNCH to the track that I do when playing it through VDJ....The volume has to be like 3/4 up to duplicate the volume of running the track through VDJ........I'm sure there is a really simple answer here but I just wanted some feedback......I would have said that it was my external soundcard (interface ) boosting everything, but the sound routes through the soundcard in both the media player and VDJ......Is VDJ (the program itself) acting as a mixer and "mixing" the track, boosting the levels in the laptop before even going to the interface/ speakers?.......I'm loving the sound through VDJ and just wondering what is processing the sound so nicely.... lolol..................thanks for the help guys!......Happy New Year!!

Nah, there is nothing wrong with the other software, it's all VDJ's fault...happy spinin' and enjoy...

It's possible that the gain of the tracks is not optimised (I.e: Too quiet.)

VirtualDJ will by default automatically apply gain to songs to bring them up to an optimal level.

The other media players that you are using may not have this capability.

A tool such as MP3Gain can be used to optimise the gain of a MP3 file: http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net
