Sujet: Video DJing question

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

So, I am djing a party this friday and want to take advantage of a projector thats available for me. My idea was to have a logo I designed for myself projected while I'm playing, and hopefully to apply effects to this image as the set continues. Is this possible with Virtual DJ 7 Pro for Mac? Or do I need to have some separate hardware in order to do this?

Any ideas are welcome, the overall goal is to add atmosphere and a bit of excitement with the projector. I see this done in concerts with the logo of, say, Feed Me, pulsating with the beat. How can I accomplish a similar effect?

First of all you will need a PC to TV Convertor.
If you're using a Mac you will need to get the picture signal out of the Mac, depending on the connection, usually to VGA.
Mine is a 2010 Mac with the MiniDisplay Port. I have a MiniDisplay Port to VGA adapter.
My PC to TV Convertor inputs from VGA. You will need to get from the PC to TV Convertor to whatever the projector input is i.e. Composite Video/S-Video. Most nightclubs I have worked in over the last 4 years have used Composite Video for distribution to their screens.

Once you get the hardware working, then you need to do some work with software.
You can create a Logo in Photoshop and saving it as a PNG file (invisible background).
There is now available the ShowLogo Plugin for the Mac.
This means your Logo could be sitting in the corner of the screen while still being able to see videos.

There are not many video graphics plugins for the Mac as most of them are created by users, most users are on PC.
For this reason my Mac is boot camped with Windows 7 and it's the PC version of VDJ that I use.

Checkout my website to see what can be achieved, scroll down the first page;

unfortunately you can pulse a video or image to the bass, you can however pulse to the beat (cbg) which doesn't look as good.

for the effect you want, download the show logo plugin for mac, you should have the boom auto plugin native to vdj. just activate that after show logo to make the picture bounce, although it may make the audiance a little sea sick... another option would be to record a video of your logo and put an audable beat behind it, then using the clipbank plugin you can sync the video with the decks.

you can do a little bit with the mac plugins, pc is definately better though

I tried recording a video but my netbook doesn't have enough power :( I'll give it a go on my laptop...

Ok, keeping the last two comments in mind, I am bootcamping my macbook again and putting windows 7 on there. Which programs are good for windows?

Which programs can run sort of "visualizer" effects for djing? For both Mac and Windows.

I should mention I am using audio only files.
