Sujet: Beginner DJ looking for software and hardware advice

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

I've had Virtual DJ Free for a few months now, and have been using it on my laptop to mix dnb music. I've become very familiar with the interface now, and know all the functions, what they do, and am getting better at mixing just using the mouse and shortcuts etc.

I have a birthday coming up, and am considering getting a usb controller. I've been looking at the Numark Mixtrack Pro, as it has the dual decks, hot cues, and a built in sound-card. But am wondering if there any other controllers out there that have these features (or more) for around a similar price, or possibly a bit more expensive, that would be suitable for me as a relative beginner.

Also, which headphones would be good to start with, to go with the controller?

I have 2 controllers and LOVE my MTP working with LE isnt a problem ... I say for a beginner go for it you wont be disappointed

I also have the Hercules mk4 -- get from home set up to try different mixed and can keep my MTP in its track for gigs .... Since you have home your virtual folders will come up in LE.

Im new and im not planing to be a dj lol i started with the numark idj two ipod controller then got the numark idj live and last but not least the pioneer ddj ergo im real happy with this controller. I got alesis m1active monitors vdj full pro and headphones got technics
Tak care

Thanks for the advice guys.

I think I am going to go for the Numark MTP, and probably pick up a cheapish pair of decent headphones from somewhere. For now, it's only for personal entertainment, so it's not like I really need anything too fancy.

Marduk78, sounds like you have a pretty sweet set-up! the Ergo is a beautiful piece of kit. If I had the money, I'd go for that, and probably get a really nice set of active monitors or full PA, but with me being a student, money's obviously pretty tight. I think a good sound system of some sort will have to wait until Christmas.

May I also ask, what are the differences between VDJ Home, LE, and Pro? I've been looking around forums for the answer to this question for ages, but to no prevail

Thanks again for the help
