Since I run nothing but video now, I would like to know how to write my own effects/transitions for mac. What do I need?
I have a Novation Launchpad that I'm slowly filling up with Samples/effects/video/fx and transitions. works surprisingly well.
I've got all the ones on the website here and i'm on the hunt for more.

apparently you need C++, which I know nothing about. so either I get it and learn how to do that, or wait.

is there a way to make a code for a midi controler to run a video or sonique that is not in clip bank...

You could use a spare deck as a video sampler and thus map that with VDJScript to load videos.

I've got 4 DVD's of the Shadow Dancer series, is there a way I can convert them to be used as a visual on VDJ?

Yes, rip them to a video file and use them on a video deck or in clipbank.
