Sujet Music Just Stopped

Hello,

I have been using the Cue for a very long time and this strange situation occurred for the first time twice in one weekend on two separate events. I usually have CUE installed although have purchased the full version of Virtual DJ so I have uninstalled CUE for it. I am not sure if that information is important to my issue.

One time it happened during the end of SHOUT so you can imagine how bad it was :-) The second time it happened while I was not near the system during an automix. What happens is the music would just simply stop playing. I played around with some settings in the menus to try to avoid it. I had about 12 hours of djing and it only happened twice. The first time was about 3 hours into the party and the other time it was only 15 minutes into the party.

Any ideas?

What are the best settings for latency, buffering and all that? Is that related to this issue?

I use the HC-4500 Asio driver for sound (Just installed - up to date) with a 19 inch mixer.

Thank you for the help.

Does the HC-4500 have a control panel to adjust the latency??? My sound card latency was set at 11ms and the music would just stop. I had to increase the latency to 15 and I havent had any issues since. I am not sure this is your issue, but this is what worked for me

Thanks man, I will see if I can increase that. Anything else or is that my only option?

Oh there could be several things from a computer that is running too much stuff to something as simple as a bad USB cord You should probably also run the dpc latency tool. ( read about it here in the forums) it will run a graph showing if your laptop has something causing you problems.

Hopefully you'll get it sorted. Nothing worse than the music stopping in the middle of a show

What OS are you using?

The HC-4500 is rock solid with VDJ, the only other thing that could be an issue is the latency being set too low or a dodgy USB connection as stated above.

I think I used 11ms with the HC-4500 and the Asio drivers, but I stopped using them due to crackling in the background. You could always try the WDM drivers instead (External mixer, 4.1 card, DN-HC4500) and see if that's any better.

Thank you for all of your help, I am going to try the DPC Latency Checker to see where that puts me. I am running windows vista. I left the laptop at my friends house so I unfortunately cannot get the specs I have checked although I will have them soon :-)

That's why I asked the question. Vista is the problem and an upgrade to Win7 should sort things.

I had the same problem and what i did to stop the problem was change it to 15 and try hooking it up to the Pc before you start the Pc.
