Maybe time to upgrade to VDJ Pro.

You can't edit the recording level in the Record-section. The Lame-codec is working, otherwise he wouldn't be able to even listen to (mp3) music. There are just 2 ways to edit the level and that part is checked.
OGG or MPEG? You can only record in MP3 or WAV:

It is a hardware-issue and so far it looks like the output from the guitar is not high enough. Unless TS is able to boost this signal the only way is to edit the recording when it's done or record with another device.
This has nothing to do with using a LE-version. Of course we would point out the advantages of the Full Pro-version and encourage NLU's and LE-users to go Pro, but this is not 1 of them..

Right now i use Audacity as you recomended earlier but this is so frustrating, i'm much more a guitarist than a dj and being able to quasi instantly add guitar samples to my mix, that would be perfect

Sorry about that, I was looking at the "broadcast" section not the "record" section. I often broadcast so that tab is the one that's selected.

I really begin to think that there is no solution at all, at least with my current hardware config....which i can't afford to change right now..

But you can...
Edit your recordings and when you're done, save them and copy them to the sampler-folder. Now you can load your recordings into the sampler in VDJ and use them whenever you want.

Yes you're right, but that's what i meant by "it's a waste of time", it forces me to quit VDJ, open Audacity......I just can't create my samples on a live set, that's the frustration^^

hi guys . looks that the problem is more in the volume of the mic/line in in the windows recording mixer.
make sure you right click on the speaker icone on the task bar and click recording device right click on the input that you want (microphone line in) get the properties and click on the level tab there you should have the volume of your microphone or line that you can adjust you can play with the microphone boost while you record your guitar . you can always look at the signal level on the recording tab of the sound window.
je ne sais pas si ma reponce est bonne mais j'aurais espere que vous puissiez realiser votre veux avec virtual dj.
best regards to all.
