Sujet: fogger remote DMX addressable??? questions.. - Page: 2

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

yeah i gathered they were from the manual, ive read it twice so far... problem is.. its all a bit foreign to me atm lol plus i dont really have any way to test anything yet as i dont have a usb>dx dongle.

Don't really see the point of having a fogger DMX controlled unless they are part of a very large setup in a club or in an inaccessible location. Surely putting it on timed release or just pushing the remote button is all that's needed for your lounge or a function?

i do see your point keith, however, as i plan to transition into mobile work soon, due to being offered some work from a local mobile disco company and also have one of my friends trying to get me a slot at a local club.i really need to learn as much as i can about DMX. on top of this, the price i payed for a 1500w DMX fogger compared to buying a smaller remote only machine was quite a large difference. as you may have seen in the past i tend to land some awesome bargains and this was one of them.. i paid a measly £23 for the fogger and around 1.5-2 litres of liquid.

my dimmer/relay also i got "new" in the box for only £33. my lights in total have set me back around £250-300 for

2 x ADJ Revo 1 (dmx) £60
2 x Chauvet Micro Barrel (dmx) £50
2 x Jb light splash £16
2 x Geni T-Max 6 £25
1 x Acme Penguin £17
1 x Colour Blade jr £13
1 x LFX Revolver (dmx) £14
1 x Meteor FM-1501 1500w fogger (dmx) + some liquid £23
1 x Chauvet DMX-4 dimmer/relay pack £33
1 x QTX lighting stand + T-bar £20

so whats that... erm.... £261??

im guessing the rig is worth a whole lot more than i paid :), i am aware that i may never use the fogger in dmx mode, but its there if i do. im also aware that unless creating lightshows to match a set, then i may never use dmx for anything other than slaving and basic effects. again its there if i need it.

next i want to buy a usb>dmx dongle, a triangle truss and some dmx cables. but those things will have to wait a month or two, i am getting there though. once those are purchased, i want another amp and a premium membership :) i think my kit will be about complete then.

(actually i want a lazer, strobe and uv cannon at some point too)

back to the topic though, ive tried my dimmer with my light splashes (realised they had male IEC connections) i worked out the chase modes, but i couldnt find a permanent ON.. ill have to re-read the manual but i cant remember seeing anything in there about permanent ON.

question! if i connect two dmx lightstogether in slave mode, do i need to use a terminator?

For short cable runs of less than about 45 metres with only a few devices, it is sometimes possible to operate without termination.
It is required if you runs a very long cables specially on 3-pins XLR wire connection the 5-pins DMX cables is best for longer distances.
