Sujet: Which Controller Has The Best Driver For Win7?

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

My controllers (rmx&xponent) do not mix videos too well under win7 pro sp1 64bit.

I want to get a new controller that has good win7 driver, doesn’t need to be fancy just good sound something like the Numark Mixtrack Pro - is anybody using the NMP with win7 64?

My laptop is an Asus with an old I7 quad at 1.6ghz ,with 8gb ddr3 ram and an 1gb ATI grafix
Any pertinent input is highly appreciated

your shouldnt have any issues mixing video with either of the controllers your using atm. the RMX is one of the most widely used controllers here in the vdj community and a large portion of its users also mix video, what i guessing is you need to tweak your system to run graphics better. starte by disabeling all windows animations, shadows, aero effects etc. then correctly map your controler to support video mixing.

Personally i dont use my MTP for video mixing, but i did completely remapped my MP3e2 to fully support video. the MTP and the RMX are both great controllers and are natively supported within vdj for both audio and video, there are pre programmed mappers available in the downloads section here on the forums that should be able to cater for your needs mapper wise.

over all, the controller has very little to do with video running slow, its a system issue.

Thank you guys but my problems is actually the sound not the video quality.
My videos are playing good
My laptop is a dedicated machine stripped of any bloating soft and it is tweaked for audio and video
The xponent has a known issue with win7 and the rmx Asio driver is not ok either under win7
So in fact I need to know how good is the win7 audio driver and the sound of the mixtrack pro or any other all in one controller - an audio driver with good sound and stable under heavy processing like mixing video with virtual dj under win7 64bit

I have used mixtrack(not the pro)under win 7 x64 without probs...also these days I use rellop digital jockey 2 IE under win 7 x64 without a single prob and great sound quality with the latest driver that is provided by reloop.
In the near past I also used vestax typhoon which is also fine...and numark mixdeck with briliant results
specs of laptop are
Intel core I5-2450 @2.50ghz
8gb ram
x64 win7 home premium
750gb internal hd
Fujitsu siemens Lifebook AH531

so you've exhausted all the possibilities from reading the wiki , at the link above ........

i quess all the rest of us with controllers are just damn lucky huh

i'm not understanding your use of the term "driver"

normally a "driver" sits on the left, texts and does her makeup .....

with computers a driver communicates with the operating system on behalf of a device or other

software .....

the driver for Rmx is THE ONLY driver .....there is no regular vs. premium ....? you can't shop for an independent

driver that will improve on the one provided.....i think you need more optimization for your system, maybe you have missed

something

how many background processes are running ??

your system is not weak , it can run well.....

Thank you all for sharring your hands on experiences with various devices.

Chucky,
Thank you for dropping by your humorous 2cents – you just dotted the “I”

Writing drivers for win7 64bit is not easy, especially when you trying to achieve a multithreading, multiprocessor low latency audio driver.

I am trying to get an insight into real user experiences, to find out which one of the newer all-in-one controllers has a good, fast and stabile audio driver that will work well with windows 7 64 bit and virtual dj pro 7 when you are mixing videos – most of them will do ok for mixing audio only, but once you start mixing videos, you’ll get all kinds of sound pops artifacts etc.(at list my controllers do if you try to keep latency under 256ms)

So as you were saying, every single audio-controller has just one audio driver, but different brands are using different audio cards and implicitly different drivers, some of them are written better and pair a lot better with their associated hardware, so you get better performance out of the hardware/software combo.

Is anybody using the N4 under win7 64bit that can share some feedback about the sound quality of the Numark N4 when mixing videos?

How about the vms4.1?

@ djlex ....i am still trying to phrase your question ....

i think you are asking what is the best controller for low latency

response for audio and video ?

My experience with VDJ and only a few controllers , has been that usually

the music latency is very good , but the video response is more variable.....

but video response seems to vary according to the video graphics card and the skin .......

i have not had audio problems at all for a long while, not since i got my Vista 64 bit system working

apparently the audio tweaks for vista seem to work for win7 also .....

i actually like win7 at least as much as i liked xp

i like my RMX , but it's not a high end controller ....it also doesn't control anything to do with

video.... you want a powerful video card matched to hi-fi audio plus a midi controller........

video seems to be the fly in the ointment ......

it is easy to "just" get stable and fast and hi-fidelity audio .....with recent hardware and VDJ

i think anyone really into video should get a desktop system or 2 and try different video cards on them....

then you have some information to pick laptops with ????????

Chucky,

man I know you for years and I know that you can give us pertinent advice, but if you realy need layman terms, I'll break it down again:

I am using windows 7 64bit with a quad processor
I am mixing videos
My videos are playing fine and the quality it is great
My computer is tweked and no, the wiki did not help improve the sound for my existing controllers (xponent and rmx)
My controllers are working fine mixing videos under windows xp 32 bit (video and audio on the same machine) but not as well under windows 7 64 bit (audio has pops when playing videos, souns good when mixing audio only like mp3 files - the same videos are palying fine under win xp)

The reasons I too like win7 are many , more ram better instructions for the processor etc
For some reason most of the older devices designed with win xp in mind are not performing as great with updated drivers for a win 7 64bit.
At this point I know that my computer/video card should be up to the task is just a matter of finding the right controller/audio card combo.

I need a newer controller with good sound (implicitly low latency at or under 128 ms; lower latency=better sound) that will perform well when used under windows 7 64bit under heavy processing like when you are mixing videos.

For reaching this goal of mine I need to find a device with a good sound card and a well written driver for windows 7 64bit ( you know, the little piece of software that you install when you get a new non plug and play device connected to your computer - something like an ASIO DRIVER and YES, DRIVERS ARE OS SPECIFIC, SOME DEVICES LIKE THE RMX HAVE A MULTI-OS DRIVER which in my case works well under win xp32 bit, but not so much under win7 64 bit)

Is this easy enough to understand or should I be more explicit?

Now any of you that are using win7 64bit and the N4 , VMS4.1 , or any other device please share your opinion and post a relevant and pertinent comment

Chucky, thank you for your help

i have a youtube video where i am demonstrating the video and video fx and using 5 or 6

video plugins ........ more recently now , i can run more fx than that on the same system .....

if my stuff shows any signs of struggle, it's with the video, not the audio, and that from extreme

fast changes

is there an update for your multi-os driver ? or workarounds from Hercules ?

lower latency = faster response , NOT better audio ....
