Sujet: Which Controller?

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Hey guys, I've been using vdj for 5 years now and I've decided to upgrade and get a nice controller. I love vdj and how easy it is to use so my first question is: Will it be difficult to play on other softwares using the controller? And my main question is which controllers do you guys recommend. My budget is ZAR7000 which is 900 dollars or 684 Euros or 555 pounds, just to give you an idea. I need a soundcard included and it must be good quality. So I hear Numark NS6 is good or Kontrol S2 but that leads to my first question. But probably too expensive also. Hercules? Gemini? They could fall in my price range. Any other brands or specific controllers?

Thanx in advance

I have been using a Denon DN-MC6000 for about 8 months now, and absolutely love it.

Works VERY well with VDj also.

And it can work as a stand alone mixer as well, so if your laptop takes a digger, or you want to plug in an ipod at a gig...all ready to go.

Just my $.02

Then Numark NS6 deck is very good and You will be impressed with the size and weight. It responds good with virtuall dj and it has alot of features.

Love mine to, No regrets here!!!

I own both the NS6 and Denon DN-MC6000 and I must tell you that I am a huge Denon fan and I think the Denon unit is pure quality but I still like the NS6 more, my hands like the jogs and the layout better on the NS6. I guess it all depends on what your looking for.

The Denon unit does come with a Virtual DJ LE license and that might come in handy since you love VDJ so much.

Anyway, try before you buy =)

Thanx for the feed back and advise guys! It's a bit of a problem now because all the controllers that I'm interested are too expenisve so the Denon MC3000 has caught my eye but it's soooo small!!! Anyone tried it before?

You can buy the NS6 for 700 dollars. Look on craigslist or amazon.

Or save some $$$ first... then get the one you really like later.

If you'll go for a second choice, you will upgrade after a month (or two) on the gear you really wanted anyway.

Goodluck!

Hey guys I also need an controller it can be maximum 300$ I had an eye on the hercules dj console mp3 e2 and the DP2 and the DN-HC5000 do you have another idea for a controller ?

I reakon you're better off getting a Hercules RMX.. I trawled through all the possible units and this one, in my oppinion, is the best value for money and features. I have bought two Serato Vinyl for £16/each then connected two normal turntables, so for around £260 I have a controller that will work like serato for less than half the price. I also use it as a controller for Ableton aswel but any Midi controller will do that :)

I recently picked up the MC3000. Works great with VDJ. Before that I had two Denon S1200's, so the "small" size didn't bother me. I wanted something more compact and easy to transport. It's a solid deck, literally! If you are a "scratch" DJ, then it might not be for you. Not saying you can't scratch with it, but if you're use to vinyl, then it will take some time to adjust.

As always, try before you buy! Get hands on with the decks you are considering.
