I have picked VDJ Pro 7 as my primary dj program over Traktor Pro2 and Serato Itch. VDJ has far more effects and is a little easier to use than Traktor and Itch just doesn't have enough of what I need up to this point. But that's not to say I've mastered either program...I'm still sorta feelin'em out. But thus far, VDJ is in the lead. I'm just learning the keyboard mapping thing and here is my question.....When using the keyboard to control the sampler...what keys allow you to actually control the sample? I know keys F1-F12 starts and stops the samples and if the shift key is held down while holding either of the keys the sample will play as long as the key is pressed...but what if I want to chop the sample in half or lengthen it on the fly...how can I do this?
Next Question...I use Numark V7(2) and an external mixer...I control the video crossfader with a midi controller(vestax typhoon). How do I get the video effects to work? The transition thing is fine..but the effects don't work. I choose an effect but it does not activate. Is there something else that I have to do?
