Hi guys, not sure if this goes here, but I purchased some dj effects from iTunes and was wondering how I could add them up to the effects folder in VDJ. I tried dragging the effect from iTunes to the folder but it didn't work. I noticed that the VDJ effects have a .bundle and .plist file extension to them. How could I active this?

VDJ sound effects are specific to VDJ (except for VST support on PC).
Are these effects (do something to an existing sound) or samples (actual sounds) you've purchased?

Hi SBDJ, yes these are effects I purchased from iTunes, they are in MP4 format, example of effects are air raid siren(hip hop/dancehall) horn, laser, etc.

Just looking at videos on youtube some DJ's use a different machine that is connected to the hardware and they play their effects from these, Native Instrument has one called Maschine, is this the easiest way for me to play my effects or is there a way I could convert my mp4 effects to play with VDJ? man too many questions lol. Thks

An mp4 is a video file not an effect. to play it just load it to a deck and press play ;-)
Maschine or any other sampler wont be able to play the file as they don't support video, you could use vj software like resoulme to play them if needed, but vdj will do a good enough job.

use the dedicated sample player or even a deck (use 4 decks if you need to)
jingle palette is a stand alone sample player (hard to find though, abandonware)

how can i add sound effects or samplers to my vdj
Posté Thu 14 May 15 @ 5:34 am
just add some files to the sampler folder in the VirtualDJ root folder.
These files will appear on VirtualDJ Browser when launching the program.
create a new sampler bank or add to an existing one.
