Hey im starting on the midi: Hercules mp3 E2.... i hear it doesn't have a soundcard? im not to sure on what that means to be honest.. still fairly new to mixing on a midi. (finally moving from a laptop to one) and something about a audio interface? (again.. fairly new here) If anyone could help me out it'll be awesome.

i understand that its a cheep midi, and as a beginner it seems ideal to start with (to me anyway) however im on a budget, so anywhere i could save money would be good.

The audio interface (otherwise known as the soundcard) is what will allow your computer to transmit the music to your speakers.

As it stands, your computer most probably already includes an audio interface, but it may not be adequate for DJing if it only has 1 stereo output (usually a green connector).

The basic DJ configuration requires at least 2 stereo output:

- one for the main mix (your speakers)

- the other for previewing the upcoming tracks

There are low cost DJ audio intrerface (Numark DJ IO or Native Instruments Audio DJ 2), but you could also do with a multichannel USB audio interface such as this one:

The configuration needed is explained in the following document:
