Wondering if anyone knows or possibly has used a program that will set a higher gain for the overall volume of video files. Something similar to the way gains on audio tracks can be altered in Audacity. The file formats I am needing to edit the gain on would be .mp4, .flv and .avi.........Thanks for the suggestions.......

The Most effective method is to simultaneously record the audio separately from the Video.
If you're using a DJ Mixer: use the ZONE OUT and record to the line in of your (i'm assuming) 2nd laptop.
Then you can drop the video and audio track in any video editing software and use the waveform to match the start. Seeing as you recorded both at the same time there should be no sync problems - Unless your start point was flubbed.
The you can edit the audio to your hearts content.
If you don't want to bother, some of the more expensive movie editors will have some sort to of volume control for the audio section of your video, but it will be really basic.

A simple basic audio/video editing software I recommend to new users is Corel Videostudio it will do what your asking and most users can get to grips with the software quite easily. Or you could opt for Sony Vegas which is a big step up from the Corel option.
Get the Corel thirty day trial here...

There are budget versions of Vegas too...
Why not download a trial version and see if it can do the job - I think it would, it's a basic task.
Bear in mind though, that your files will be decoded and re-encoded for this process, so you may find the quality is affected.

What about swapping the audio file of the video with the audio mp3 file of the cd version of the song, it's usually better quality and I rip mine at 320, is there a sofeware that can be use for this type of application only, it will solve alot of the talkie scences in some otherwise good videos...
Thanks

Here's hoping the timeline mode in VDJ8 might come in handy for this kind of thing in the future...

Sounds good in theory Joey but there is an awful lot of resyncing the audio back to the visuals, far easier to cut the excess out on beat of the original file.
What I've seen of V8 in it's promo glimpse to the community it looks as though cutting out the waste in music videos will be a doddle in the future.

There are programs to extract the audio portion of a video, why not the other way around and replace the track, where you could wavepad the original compared to the better quality track, cut the begining or the end to match if needed and replace it back into the video file...?
Anybody know what can be used to accomplish this task...

Indeed, it was an exciting demo! Hopefully we'll also be able to use it to replace the audio track with a radio edit, for those annoying videos that have bits of soundtrack throughout! (Duck Sauce, I'm looking at you.) Or even chop up videos to sync up to a longer or alternate edit. Oh the possibilities... :)
