Sujet: playlists question

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

I have a few old external hard drives, i'm not using any more that have some play lists that are not on my present vdj. is there any way to but all my old drives together and save all my old playlists into one place and combine they with the play lists i'm using now? so when vdj opens all my playlists come up old and new?

to answer your question, YES you can combine ALL your playlist since it's just a TEXT file.

here is what it looks like inside you PLAYLIST.m3u file

#VirtualDJ Playlist
#MixType=FadeEx
#FadeLength=4000ms
#Repeat=true
D:\Music Collections\Yes\The Ultimate Yes (35th Anniversary Collection) (Disc 1-3)\Yes - Roundabout.mp3
D:\Music Collections\Yes\The Ultimate Yes (35th Anniversary Collection) (Disc 1-3)\Yes - Owner Of A Lonely Heart.mp3

As you can see, there is a DRIVE letter pointing to the song.
Since you have different DRIVES, that drive letter will change and of course you have to make that ALL PATH is exactly the same.

Dunno how much work you're gonna do combining it, maybe its quicker to just re-make.

You can open up the m3u (re-name it TXT) and open in notepad to see contents.

Yip, it's that simple.

It's only the database on the root of the external drive, the playlists will be on your C drive in the user>virtualdj folder.

You can open them in a text editor, change & merge what you want and use find>replace to change the drive path from the old drive to the new one.
