Sujet: Do you think...

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

...anybody will release a 4 deck controller that actually has 4 jogwheels and 4 pitch sliders?

Could be done with a reasonable footpint, something like a Kontrol S4 or VCI400 with 2 more jogwheels. Do you think there would be a market for this?

I\'m probably alone in this but I really dont like having to switch between decks when using a 4 deck layout...

I like the look of this (I know its Traktor but the principle...) and would probably work out smaller than somthing like the Pioneer DDJ-T1...

I though this is how they were going to be when I first heard 4 deck controller, I like the idea.

here you go, note that the led colors have changed from orange to blue and the project manager nem0nic is working to give these the best feeling and finish possible and has said they will go into mass production in September or October so shouldn't be too far off being released.

here is an image nem0nic posted of one possible finish... Hopefully they don't choose that one though!

Ooh, shiny!

Hopefully we'll be able to get our hands on them at BPM (Birmingham NEC) next month.

From what I remember the Denon SC-2000 uses the same components (jog wheel, etc) as the 6000 and is the same height. So you could achieve the same with effect here...

I was contemplating this myself, but found more frequently useable kit I could spend my money on... lol

Cheers,

Roy

Funny how its only a month away from BPM and no mention of any controllers yet! apart from this Behringer.

The behringers won't be out in time for BPM it will take a while to manufacture enough to keep up with the demand and they were first seen last year at NAMM I think it was.. Pioneer just released some new gear... Native Instruments also dropped the Maschine Mk2, Denon have the MC-2000 that's a fair bit of stuff... I can't really see anything else coming accept for maybe an update of the S4 as pretty much every company has released a controller within the last year and they probably want to let it last atleast a year before upgrading. now the only thing left is VDJ7.1/8

I'm not expecting them to be at retail, just on show so we can see them and have a grope.

Maschine is a production tool and the MC2000 doesn't count lol, it an upgrade to the 6000 we want.

LCD readout, push to kill eq, USB ports. I don't need wave forms in the readout, just basic info; time, title, bpms. IEC might be a little much, but I hate those adapters. The USB ports are for media and my goose neck lights. Hey, maybe put led, pop up lights, with a dimmer on it, that will change colors, and strobe, and touch my private parts. OK, the strobe part went a little too far.

I'm with beatbreaker... bigger jugs ; )

I miss having a display on my 400 and was considering making a little HID LCD to add on to it.

I'm all for the idea of more controllers having standalone playback functions.

So many out there are just useless without a computer.

Then there are a few with a mixer that works standalone - but the players either side are redundant.

There needs to be more standalone usefullness built in. Make it work with or without a computer. Give us the choice.

I'm not going to list all my wishes as I've done it before and those already mentioned above are pretty good except for the American's wanting bigger joggs lol, actually I would like smaller joggs like on the old CD players and dac 2.

Sometimes I have something else on my screen, and would like to still know what's going on. It would only add one space to it. Think of all the space you have saved by putting all in one. My MP 24 was 5 spaces, plus I think the DMC was 3 spaces. If I was gonna get a new mixer, it would be the MP 26, which is even bigger, I think. Another thing they could add, independent sound card to all four channels.

Well I suppose the jog size is dependant on whether you want to scratch or not. If you just want to pitch bend/search/cue then small jogs are perfectly OK. On the other hand scratch DJs probably prefer NS7 size.

As Charlie says the ones on the CDN series were perfectly functional at the time.

After having used the MC-6000 for a while I personally think the jogs are pertty much perfect.

Why would a scratch DJ buy a device like this? so I think that argument is quashed. I wish they would stop trying to make units that goe out to everyone and try to be a little more specific.

Denon already do a scratch deck for people that want to scratch! with moving platters, if anyone told me the were a super cool hip hop scratch DJ and then turned up with a MC6000 I just piss myself to be honest.

I would like to see Denon introduce new buttons to their units, I used to love the rubberised buttons but they wear out far to quick and date the units. I love setting cue points with the Hercules RMX I feel the buttons are better quality.
