Sujet: video output freezes each time I turn on vdj

Please help anyone... after I set up at a job i turn everything on and I load a video. The video itself works fine on the laptop but on the external video using the vga output is frozen. It only started doing this recently. I have used the laptop for 3 years without video problems. The last three weeks whenever I initially turn on everything and load a video it freezes but only on the extended output using vga. If i turn off extended to a projector mode and reset it to extend mode it starts working fine the rest of the night. I never had to do this before.

Have you tried a different cable? Maybe a bad pin. Is VGA the only choice you have?
 
If I had a bad cable why would it work flawlessly the whole night after I reset the extended video
 
I'm sorry, you mean extend to second monitor in windows?

I would still check my connections first. It seems that your machine is not seeing the projector at first. Have you changed anything on the machine? That has to be something different that happened. Do not discount the bad pin, I have experienced this first hand. The vibrations can keep the connections working sometimes. Does this happen with anything, projector, monitor?
 
Changed all cables and get the same thing. Monday i may try an older version of vdj. I never had a problem in the past with the video imedietely freezing.
 
must put your computer on UPS

try not to connect the PC to the same outlet as your video projector
 
I,ve been using the laptop without problems for 3 years. It just started freezing recently. Maybe it,s the latest vdj updates causing the freezing. Like i said it works fine right after I either turn off and re-check the activate video or turn off the external projectior mode and then extend it again. It has happened at three different job installs and at home with different tv monitors hooked up to it. A this point I dont have too much energy to look deep into the issue as I am recovering from a stroke I had two months ago. I lost complete functionality in my right side. Working hard to get it all back.

Frank, Sorry to hear about your stroke. Did you try to rename 7.3 and install 7.2 and see if it does it still??
 
No, I will try it after I get back from physio. I will go back to 7.01 I think it started after that.
 
Was just throwin that out there as maybe it will help to narrow it down.
