Since it's Thanksgiving here in the States (and a few other places) I thought to create a thread thanking the Atomix staff for their hard work.
Thanks to you all for your tireless customer support, for continuing to update an already great DJ application, and for the future of Virtual DJ
Here's hoping for the release of Version 8 in 2013, the Android control app, and much more!
*Also, a question to you other users out there.
Have you used Windows 8 with the latest version (7.3) of VDJ?
What has your experience been like?
So far mine has been positive, I've been running 8 for about 2 months now on my test machine, gigged about 4 times with it.
I have yet to have any audio dropouts, stuttering, or other issues relating to it. Some skinning issues have occurred but that's mostly due to beta display drivers not working correctly.
I'd appreciate if only people who have been actively using W8 to comment on their experience. If you haven't used it yet, please hold your opinions about about the metro interface or any other related items.
Thanks again to the Atomix Staff!

Glad I found this post because I want a RANT !! ... I have issued a ticket but as its a Sunday I wont get a reply until tomorrow maybe.
OK first up, I just bought a new HP Laptop Pavillion G6 Intel core I5 processor and 1TB hard drive
I am running 7.3 Pro [b422] with a Hercules RMX Controller.
First off I can't seem to get the up to date drivers as there web site is down, so I used the link via Virtual DJ in my account.
I tried to go online and update but no luck.
So config settings > Sound Setup
SHOULD BE
Inputs :None
Outputs :Headphones Master Chan 3&4/Headphones Chan 1&2
Sound Card:DJ console RMX
Apply OK
Now this is the important bit...This works on my win 7 machine (I have two laptops and two controllers)
BUT on Win 8 operating system I don't have the sound card option
Been to PC World 4 times in two days the staff are even baffled and I have spoken to the "Knowhow" tech guys and they well...DONT KNOW !
Oh I right clicked on properties and compatibility and have tried running it in Vista Service Pack 2 Mode and Windows 7 mode and still cant get it to work.
Can anyone help me please ?

Sounds like an issue with the Hercules drivers and Windows 8 rather than an issue with Virtual DJ.
Makes it sound like you want to rant at Atomix, but you should really take time to set up and test things properly first. Like most other companies, I would guess your ticket is in a queue and will be answered in working hours.
Make sure the console has the latest drivers installed from the Hercules site (and that they are Windows 8 compatible). Not much you can do if their website is unavailable.

All I can say is, I have the RMX running like a charm on Win 8 and VDJ Pro 7.3.
So it's not a fundamental problem and it usually is working as expected.
Do you have it connected to an USB 3.0 port? It's recommended to run it on an USB 2.0 port...

Actually from what I can see an agent has taken your ticket so I'm guessing they are looking at it right now - tickets are definitely handled on a Sunday :)
It doesn't look like you've installed the Hercules drivers though (we don't provide them for download as they are not ours to provide - we only provide the software) but as you say their site is down at present.

I've used my Win8 machine 3 times out of the house and a dozen times trying to tweak in house with my NS7. Only problem I'm having is when I load a mp4 while one is playing and try to transition the inbound track stutters. At one point the track almost came to a complete stop then picked back up.
I'm assuming somethings running in the background but I have no clue what.
Other than that Win8 is awesome... gonna try Pangolins IMU with it soon.

Thanks Guys, whilst it still isn't working. I'm encouraged by the fact that there are a few of you on here with Win8 operating system and using the Hercules RMX, so I'm relieved more to hear that it must be the Hercules drivers. Which I did suspect it would be, just a shame there web site is down.
I've noticed in the passed actually that the Hercules web site seems to go down a lot.
Anyway guys thanks for all your responses :-)

Thanks Scott/Infact everyone for there help
I'm pleased to say I have the new drivers from Hercules just a shame the web site went down at the weekend it would have saved me a right headache.
Anyway I appear to be up and running now, so if anyone else has the same problem as me running windows 8, follow the instructions.
Great Support
Colin
