I had to buy a new laptop today and of course had to install my Virtual DJ on it. I have everything on it now but the videos play choppy and lag behind the audio. Videos play great when I use Media player etc...but in VDJ they are slow.

are your codecs ok ? maybe download a good codec package and see if that helps, are you using same o.s as the last laptop ?

also what processor do you have now and what was on your last machine?
Posté Thu 13 Dec 12 @ 2:22 pm
Sorry. I don't know what codecs are. The laptop I was using before was also a Toshiba...but this one is a much better one. I'm sure its just some kind of setting...but I don't know what codecs are.

Your card is more than enough. Don't worry about not knowing what a codec is, there is still stuff I don't have a clue about. Not too technical, but a codec is basically what format or type of video. Some are vob, avi, flv, mpeg, and so on. You can find out, by looking at the file, and see what it says at the end of it. It wil say .vob, or .avi, and so on. Some formats, are better quality than others. I like .vob and .mpeg-4. You may need to tweak your video card, or a setting in VDJ. Do you have the latest drivers? Do you have anything else running in the background?

No. Nothing else running in the background....should I be looking for some new drivers on here for the VDJ software??

No, for your video card. Did you try the registry tool? Try here.

I added the registry and checked all the boxes in the video section. The videos seem to be working fine now. Thank you so much!
