Sujet: Scanning Vob files causes VDJ 7.3 to crash

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

So I'm setting up a new DJ system and have BPM scanned all my mp3 files with no problem. Now I've scanned about 30% of my VOB files but while scanning a file VDJ crashed saying there was a fatal error with a particular VOB file. I shut down and restarted VDJ and tried scanning that particular file 2 or 3 times and each time, the same thing happened. If I restart VDJ and load the file into a player, then it get's the BPM from the load and it works fine. Scan another batch of files and they work until it hits another file and then the same fatal error message. Load the file into a player after restarting VDJ and it loads and scanns just fine. Had this problem when first scanning VOB files on my old system and had to manually load all the problemed files which took a week. Thought the issue would be fixed in 7.3 as well as now using a more powerful laptop. Any suggestions on how to fix this so I don't have to manually load and baby sit the laptop while it's scanning all my 55 thousand files?

Open a ticket for tech support and send them a sample file to check the issue, it seems that the problem may be with your files...

It happend to me, two weeks ago and it was because the vob files was bad ripped. The Problem had nothing to do with VDJ.

did your files work if you loaded them into a player like mine did? I use DVD dycrpter to rip my promo only vid discs and rip them in bob format for highest quality. Since it happens randomly on certain files that maybe ripped bad, then I guess I have no choice button baby sit the rip of each video folder and load those bob files that cause bid to crash into a player so they can be bmp and gain scanned. But if it is a case of a bad rip, wouldn't't the files also crash when trying to load it into one of the decks? Problems files load and play just fine if loaded into a deck.

Well that is the mysterious part of what you stated, that's why I suggested a support ticket, so they may want to look at this strange behavior...

The vob files played ok on my other media players, like VLC but not on VDJ. Then I open it in Sony Vegas and first thing I saw was that the audio track was few second longer than the Video track. I use "Bigasoft Total video Converter" or Sony Vegas to repair my files.

Happened to me last night when scanning files while I slept. It didn't happen with every vob though. It was random. It happened with 7.0.2. Did NOT happen with 7.0.1. The crash guard does not pop up. It is a different error box that pops up.

I stand corrected...it DOES happen on 7.1 as well. Either way very frustrating as it's difficult to scan all the songs in a folder hoping everything will be done overnight successfully.

The same VOB files that were crashing VDJ (7.1, 7.2 - did not try 7.3 but read about the issue happening with that version which is why I haven't installed 7.3 on my DJ laptop-using 7.2) are scanning just fine on my work office desktop with VDJ 6.0.5 (I also have 7.1 on my work office desktop). Hopefully others are reporting this and it is being discovered and solved in vdj 8. :)
