Hey everybody,
I have some problems with connecting my two denon s1200's to virtual dj (version 7.0 pro).
First problem is when I want to connect the two players to my laptop. I linked the two players with a link cable,
and both players show on their screen that they are linked. So on first sight, no problem. Now when I set the two players
on PC mode, after I connected one denon to my computer, only one player can connect. The other player says: pc disconn....
I tried to connect the other player also but it has the same problem..
Second problem is that I cannot play any sound when I press the play button on the connected denon. Almost all other buttons do work.
Also the problem is I cannot play the music when I using my laptop. So I cannot play any sound by the denon player or by laptop. I followed this procedure: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/DenonMIDISetup.html.
Midi channel is on 1 and unit set is also on 1.
Can anybody help me solving these problems?
Thanks in progress!
Koen

I would start with registering your Pro serial number and then get the newest version from the download section.

Problem with Denon DN-S1200 and VDJ pitch control.
Please help...I have 2 Dns 1200 and finally configures them to work with VDJ pro 7.
Everything works ok. Although I wouldn't consider them to be a perfect combination and made for one another.
The main issue I have is that the pitch slider on my Denon controller will work only when you move it about 5 lines plus or minus from 0.
It is nearly impossible to mix this way.
The BPM's stay the same until the slider hits a certain spot on the scale. Basically there is a dead zone from like +5 to -5 on the slider.
Any ideas on a fix?
Denon controller works fine with a CD. Very pitch control sensitive which is great for mixing.
Please help!

From Config->Options make sure PitchReset OnLoad and AutoPitch matching are disabled.
If you use the SYNC button to match the songs, then this may explain your pitch slider issue ... http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Soft%20Take-over%20or%20Non-MIDI%20Mixer.html

Sorry for the duplicate posts....nevertheless, I've tried your suggestions on a fix but to no avail!
I am at my wits end.
If a pro like you can't provide a remedy to the issue....then I give up.
$1200 USD for the laptop w/software
$500 for denon dn-x500 mixer
$1100 for 2 denon dn-s1200 controllers
What a waste of money! Time to return all this crap, go back to a free download of DJ INTRO and some mediocre Numark mixdeck.
At least I was able to use pitch control and mix with no issues.
Thanks for trying to help me anyway.
I'm done!!
All day with Denon support and online searching all the VDJ forums? Time is money!

If you have a cracked version of the software that will be where your issue is more than likely, if not I would register your SN and re-download the latest version from this site.

Well without getting too far into detail, the pitch control issue still remains even with a possible bad version and registry removed and the latest version of VDJ Basic installed.
If the problem remains with the basic home version, I was told by support it would be the same as the Pro Full Version?
Is there a glitch in the software that does not able me to use the pitch control fully native?
Also, the notion of a "soft take over" is ridiculous....especially when Denon insisted that their product is fully compatible with VDJ and are blaming the issue on the software!
There has to be a fix here, correct?
Thank you.

As above, you must disable the Pitch Reset On Load and Auto Pitch Matching options (CONFIG -> Options) Also, you must not use the SYNC button because pressing this will change the software pitch position appropriately to match the other deck and the physical slider will no-longer match, causing soft-takeover to take effect.
Alternatively, you could change the PITCH slider mapping to pitch instead of pitch_slider - This will disable soft-takeover, but is not recommended.
Soft-takeover is not rediculous. It is a standard and very important feature that's present in most DJ software to avoid the issue of software and hardware knobs/sliders not matching after adjustments have been made by the software (E.g: When using sync, auto pitch matching, gain normalisation, etc. which are all common DJ software features.)
This mismatch between the hardware is impossible to avoid unless the controller has motorised knobs/sliders, which is very rare. Without soft-takeover, the pitch would immediately 'jump' to the correct position as soon the slider is moved and depending on the difference, this will be very noticeable to your audience and could ruin your mix.
