I wana start making my own beats now that ive been mixing for a while. any good software suggestions?

there are a lot of softwares you can use to start making your own beats but first you will need a good keyboard midi controller .
4 most popular softwares are propellerhead reason, sonar (roland) , pro tools, and cubase. Fruity loops seems to be on the rise as well.

You forgot Ableton Live. Popular with DJs who also produce, due to the warping abilities and clip/loop triggering.

+1 on Ableton. You can also check out Reaper. Very inexpensive and you get a full month free trial.

I would say since your just starting out go with Reason. Ableton is great but you dam near need to go to school to learn to use it...........

I use Ableton for making transitions, intro/outros, etc. I know a couple of up and coming EDM producers that do music with it.
Would definitely recommend Ableton.
