Happy New Year to all...

Anyone have experience with the Mackie DLM Series speakers?

supposed to be 2000w

They have a 12inch sub, a 12inch top and a 8inch top.

I'm curious about these speakers.

Yeah, I those on Mackie's website the other day, I think they look butt ugly, but if they sound good and they're as loud as you want a 2000watt speaker to be, then they could be a winner!

Anyone heard them? A comparison with their srm450 would be useful since I'd bet most people have heard or used them at some point.

P.s. happy new year!

First I'm seeing them, I cant believe how small they are! Half the size of a traditional 15", twice the power and same price range as JBL & QSC.
2013's gonna be a good year for new gear!

They are probably loud but, I dont thint the bass is good. I would like to hear them one day.

Looking at their response charts I'm not impressed at all. Not much low end under 100Hz, which I would expect from a 12 inch. But no where near the flat response, or the depth of the SRM 450. I do like that the amps are fan cooled. I would be willing to give them a listen, but the data doesn't look strong.

Wait........a 12inch sub, capable of 2000 watts??????? C'mon that has to be some funny math. Don't you think that would be some kind of scientific breakthrough, and would have been in all the publications? I will bet that the 2000 watt claim is some kind of momentary peak, and continuous power is about 600 watts, with some THD we could live with.

There is way to much emphases put on wattage. I would much rather have a more efficient, lower wattage speaker if it could have the response, minimal distortion, and SPL that I aim for.

The 2000 watt rating is peak, 1000 RMS is what it's rated.

I listened to them, and my opinion is they are good, nice small and compact. Good for dj's that have a car to transport things. And i think they are good for small gigs and perfect for house parties, but you will have to get the bass speaker that goes with it if you really want to have some bass. Not as crisp a sound as the QSC's i have, but i did not play with the onboard equilizer that it has.

Thanks for sharing!
