Sujet: Budget Controller for Newbie

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Hi guys,

Im new to all this and looking to buy a budget controller to use with virtual DJ, i just wanted to get a few of your expert opinions before i spend the cash.

The main 2 ive been looking at are the Denon MC2000 and the Numark Mixtrack Pro 2.

Is the MC2000 worth the extra money(£50 more) than the Mixtrack Pro 2 ???

Which one has more features or are they roughly the same with build quality the only main difference ???

If there are any other suggestions you guys have for a controller please let me know.

Thanks for reading :)

Both are pretty weak in my opinion but you should go to a store that has them and try them both out. Heres some reviews,

I'd go with the Stanton DJC.4

Eitherway Id try them all out first hand............ Good Luck

From another thread but, it's the best advice to give...

I suggest that you go to a music store, or a friend, and see these controllers, personally. You will need to handle them to see if they are a fit for you. If you do not try them for yourself, you may not like the layout, or the way it feels. What each one of us likes, may not suit you.

Go try them out before buying...

OK thanks guys, unfortunately there are no decent music shops where i live so i wont be able to try before i buy

most of the low end controllers do the same basic job.
so ur mostly going by looks and price.
id say the most important thing is make sure it has an inbuilt sound card.
have u thought about looking on ebay for a 2nd hand controller.
u can mostly tell how old they are by when they were first released and since so many have hit the market in the
last few years most will be less than 12 months old and fully working as they will still be under warranty.
if u go for a 2nd hand unit look for touch sensitive jog wheels

Am i right in thinking that the MC2000 is now fully supported(plug and play) in Virtual DJ 7.3 ???

Hi mate. I'm reasonably new to the whole controller thing and I was in the same position as yourself. I was stuck between the mixtrack pro and the pioneer wego as a first controller. I went to my local music shop and had a go on both and the pioneer wego won hands down, it felt more well built than the mixtrack pro and it's just so easy to use to learn on.
I've been using the wego for about 2 months now and love it, I know it's not on your list but it's well worth a look.
To me it's worth the cash and it also comes with the pioneer name and build quality and is a good stepping stone to upgrade when you feel ready.

Just my 2 cents lol.

Also meant to mention that I upgraded to virtual dj pro and it's well worth the money to do so as it unlocks everything and gives you so much more you can do with this controller.
