Sujet: Looping with MTP

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

So, after all my whining about whether I needed a controller, I caved, upgraded to Pro Full, and treated myself to a Mixtrack Pro controller.

So far, so fun. Alot more 'hands-on'.

But there is a grey cloud in my otherwise blue sky.

I play Hard House, and Trance. When playing PnC style through an external soundcard and mixer, I'd press '1' to get a single beat looping, then during the break of the current track, mix that single beat into the first track, halving and halving, so the kick gets faster and faster, building up the energy.

Through my MTP, though, I'm damned if I can figure out how to get it to loop just that one beat using the loop-in and -out buttons, and have it keep time - its either a fraction too short, or too long, and sounds awful, because the beats don't fit. I cpuld just press '1', but that defeats the point of the controller.

Is there a 'snap to beat' function I'm missing?

Even if I can make it loop 8 or 16 beats, then ultimately shorten that to a tidy one beat, I'd be happy.

Can anyone help?

Ta

Mike.

If you load the default skin, there should be a small padlock beside the loop commands.

Click this on both decks till it turns yellow, this activates smart loop.

Hopefully this is what you're looking for :)

Just tried it, and good times!

Knew it was something simple I'd missed.

Thanks, Keith. Now I can keep it kicking...

Excellent!

Glad you're sorted.
