Sujet: Which version do I need for Macbook Pro?

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Hey guys,

ok here it is. I don't Dj a lot anymore so I need a simple version without any need to use hardware because I can manage everything within the program. The only thing I want to do is be able to cue records and link my computer to my audio interface (Focusrite Scarlett 2i2) which then goes to the traditional DJ mixer.

So I have:

- Macbook Pro 13" mid 2010
- audio interface Focusrite Scarlett 2i2

And I want to:

- connect my macbook to my audio interface, what is the best way?
- connect the audio interface to a traditional Dj mixer
- connect my headphones somewhere so I can pre listen but where?

Sorry for the noob questions but I'm an old skool technics vinyl Dj ;-)

Tnx for the help!

Sorry but no it ain't. If you're new to virtual mixing and this program this comparison doesn't say a lot.

You need the VDJ Pro Full Version ($299).

The list tells you Everything that each version can & cant do......... but like my man said you VDJ Pro Full Version ($299).

As for your questions,

- connect my macbook to my audio interface, what is the best way? Id say either firewire or the usb ports........ pretty simple stuff.

- connect the audio interface to a traditional Dj mixer. Youd run RCA's from your tables/cdj's to the inputs on your soundcard. Then run some more RCA's from the output from your soundcard into the channels on your mixer......(might have to calibrate the signal from the VDJ config window)

- connect my headphones somewhere so I can pre listen but where? Youd just plug them into your mixer and use them like you always have.

Hope to see you as a PRO user soon and good luck

If you dont need to use any MIDI devices, but still need to use an external analogue dj mixer and a multichannel sound card, Basic version is the suitable software for you.

http://www.virtualdj.com/products/basic.html

It has all the features of Pro Full version, but you will not be able to output the video to full screen (so not suitable for video or karaoke mixing), apart from no MIDI support.

Hi I have VDJ basic on Mac 10.6.8. i have it going through a pioneer amp. A307R.
I have a y- splitter plugged into the headphone jack of the computer for my output. My sound set is the simple one.

My question is how do i play deck 1 through my speakers and listen to deck 2 only in my headphones?

I hope someone will please get back to me. I am spo frustrated!

Do I have the correct set up? Do I need the Pro?

Thanks in advance

Simple sound setup will give you master sound output only (No headphone pre-listening.)

To enable headphone pre-listening, please read our FAQ pages: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Pre-listening%20with%20headphones.html
