Hello All
I know everyone here loves to DJ but when you're not DJing what do you do
to relax my love is my fish tanks when I'm not spending all my
money on equipment it goes on my fish tanks. I think everyone
should have a hobby that they like and lets them relax from a hard day of
work and this is one of mine. Whats yours...?

Well with 6 kids I don't really get alot of free time. I work full time and the older 4 all play sports year around so that keeps us pretty busy. When I can get away I take the boat out and FISH!! I love of a bad day of fishing, lol!! I think it's the tranquility of it all. As djs were always surrounded by noise. Sometimes you just gotta get away from it all, be it the kids, wife or music.

snorkling and diving... It is so peaceful under water that I instantly forget everything and just be in the moment exploring a world that's so close yet so different.

Nice tank my friend.
I used to run a freshwater tank business in NYC WAAAAAAAAAY back in the day. I would go to Chinatown and set up and maintain the tanks in their establishments.
My tanks were clearer than air we breathe.
filtration is your BEST friend when it comes to aquariums.
I had a 200gal tank, a 150gal. tank, a 55gal tank and a 10gal. sick tank.
I always over filtered. Undergravel filter with powerheads (no air bubbles), Canister filter and Bio filter. My tanks were so clear you would have thought YOU could breathe in them.
Ich is a pain in the ass but it's manageable. Just be careful what you introduce to your tank.

When I'm alone, I turn out the lights, close the drapes, and touch my self addressing remote control, because I like to watch TV.

Hobbies? Hmmmm.......
Running - (erm... more like jogging these days). I took up running in 1992 to help me stop smoking, went 'cold turkey' and never smoked since. :-) I run around 1,000 miles per year. I rarely race nowadays but enjoy getting out into the countryside offroad away from the hustle bustle of modern life. Of course I'm spoiled with fantastic countryside where I live in the North East of England with lots of fields and woods to explore. Best half marathon = 1hr 27 mins (back in the 1994), never ran a marathon and no particular desire to do one. Not a big fan of road running, much prefer the offroad stuff. I have ran 28 miles offroad before covering the three peaks in Derbyshire.
Playing sax - at local amateur Open Mic Nights. I played in a band in 1999/2000 with lots of Wilson Picket type tunes but DJing got in the way. I play tenor, alto & soprano, this last year I've played the soprano much more than the others.
Tenor = 1962 vintage Selmer MK VI
Alto = 1978 Buffet S1
Soprano = Elkhart 300 series new in 1999.
Driving - I used to race saloon cars way back in the 70s. Always been a bit of a 'petrol head'. I have a BMW Z3 convertible sportscar and enjoy driving out on the quiet country roads in my area in the summer with the top down. I sometimes attend cars shows with the Z3 Owners Club.
Computing - Probably spend anything up to 10 hours per day (when not doing any of the above lol). Been heavily involved in computing since 1979, got an HND in Computer Studies with Distinction and did a BA Degree in Data Processing (unfinished). Obviously a natural progression from DJing with vinyl to pioneering DJing with computers in 1998. Never DJed with CDs.
Luckily I don't have a day job, I manage to make a living DJing on Friday and Saturday nights (8 hours total). ;-)
