I've just bought VDJpro and I'm enjoying it. I've been messing around with the settings while reading through the forums and I have a few questions. As this is my first post, please feel free to throw empty bottles at me and/or move my post to the correct place if I've made any mistakes. Anyway,
1) Curious; but how would one set up a pair of vinyl turntables (without timecodes)/mixer and a midi controller and laptop? As far as the arrangement and layout on a table goes that is. I don't necessarily need to have both, but it would make practicing more interesting.
2) A followup to the first question: when it comes to vinyl scratching vs digital scratching, the latter feels a little off to me. Is that normal? Does the feel vary by controller? (By 'feel' I mean the way the sound is cut and picks up again when you release it.)
3) I'm using a pioneer ddj-wego, when it comes to the output to speakers, should I run it from the laptop or the actual controller? As I've only been listening through my laptop so far I haven't been able to experiment with it yet. What would you all recommend?
4) I haven't found a good way to break into the video aspect of VDJ. I know it can play some of my videos, but what all can I do with that option/function? Where's a good place to look that stuff up? The forum for it hasn't really helped me all that much :/
Thanks in advance. Mostly I could just continue experimenting to figure all this stuff out this is mostly to introduce myself to the community and actually join the forums ^__^

Welcome to the Forums...I can't address questions one or two because I don't use Vinyl any longer but,
3) I'm using a pioneer ddj-wego, when it comes to the output to speakers, should I run it from the laptop or the actual controller? As I've only been listening through my laptop so far I haven't been able to experiment with it yet. What would you all recommend?
The wego im guessing has balanced outputs, either XLR or 1/4 inch. You would run your sound out of your controller to your speakers.

The question is: What can't you do with VDJ? Play music video, run karaoke, text to screen, show movie clips, create a slide show from pictures, etc! Check out www.vj-pro.com for your video needs. IMO they are the best out there right now. Hope that helps...if you dont here back from the forum right away, especially if you post on a Thursday thru Saturday night, remember those are the big working days for a lot of us here.
Good luck!

and to be honest the best way to learn it is to do it - play with it and experiment.

The Wego has RCA out. For me I connect the RCA's to the RCA input on a traditional mixer but that is because I have other devices as a backup.

Thats an interesting idea. I do have a 4input mixer as well.
