Sujet: Problem with VDJ and ASIO

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Hey folks
I'm having a bit of an issue with my VDJ, especially the ASIO driver.
The facts: I just bought an American Audio VMS2. The installation of VDJ and ASIO went perfectly well and everything is working.
If there only wasn't the ASIO driver... (I installed the version from the American Audio Website, knowing that the version on the cd isn't working.)
So whats wrong: When I finish my djing-session, close VDJ, shut down the VMS2 and unplug it. It doesnt switch back to my normal built-in soundcard. So i thougt maybe a reboot of my computer will do it, but my computer just won't shut down. The screen goes black but the computer's still running and even after 2h (i didn't want to wait longer) it didn't shut down.
And for the records that never occured before, only after having used VDJ respectively the ASIO driver.
Anyone experienced that before or knows how to fix it?

Cheers

Not sure if any of theses things are related. Hard reboot the machine, either remove the battery, or hold the power button until it shuts down. Reboot the machine, and try to shut it down again, without VDJ, or the controller. Then try the software, then controller, and then both together.

It seems that its related to the ASIo drivers of the VSM. Even if the device is disconnected, the drivers still report that the device is present. So maybe this shut down issue is related to an application still using them.
I would suggest to connect the VMS, and goto Windows Sound Control and set the built in sound card of your computer as default (instead of the VMS), having of course the VMS connected. See if that helps.

hey you two
thanks for your response.
I kinda fixed it. I know now in which order I have to start and shut VDJ.
(Open VDJ -> connect device -> turn on device / shut down device -> unplug device -> close VDJ for those who may experience the same problem)
I think its like you said a problem with the soundcard config, but if i respect that order of plugging in and out it doesn't crash.
Thanks again
